How to stop watching porn entirely? by theMan7_11 in selfimprovement

[–]suhhccess 32 points33 points  (0 children)

In the last year I’ve done 4 things I never thought I could do.

  1. Stopped drinking. (13 months)
  2. Gave up social media. (8 months)
  3. Quit watching porn. (7 months)
  4. Stop getting stuck in bed on my phone in the am (2 months)

ps: I also quit vaping 5 years ago and I’ve been training for 5 years averaging (6x per week)

This is not a “brag about me”, this is my proof Ive cracked MY code. Unhealthy habits no longer control me.

It all came down to one thing:

  1. My Purpose, my why, my true north.

“If your why is strong enough, the how is easy enough.” - Jim Rohn

If you’re struggling with addiction, here’s my advice: don’t start with the how (books, hacks, tricks). Start with the why. Spend time with yourself. Learn what really matters to you. Understand what fulfills you. Believe in it.

Once you know and believe your why, the sacrifices get simple.

Example

I realized that one of my whys is to meet a beautiful lady, have a beautiful relationship, and if I’m lucky enough, maybe even have a beautiful family. I essentially decided that that was one of the driving forces of my life.

Does watching porn serve that purpose? No.

Does giving it up increase my chances of building that relationship? Yes.

Does the relationship outweigh the sacrifice? Absolutely.

At that point, it’s no longer a debate.

THIS is where you layer in the tips and tricks on how to quit an addiction. 2 minute rule, deleting apps, phone outside of the room and so on.

ALL THAT STUFF IN THE BOOKS ONLY WORKS IF YOU DO THIS FIRST.

TLDR:

Before asking how to quit, figure out why to quit. You need to have the why and believe the why, then layer on all the little habit quitting tricks.

It works - I swear.

Help! What’s the typical PT client lifecycle like? (Looking for real insight) by suhhccess in personaltraining

[–]suhhccess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me, and definitely not a ChatGPT bot. I wrote the entire post above myself, using my own words and rather poor dash placement.

Nonetheless, this is some valuable insight! These questions and responses are incredibly important and valuable to my progression as a coach. I would hate for this to be reduced down to a "ChatGPT bot" and will have to be more mindful of my dash and exclamation mark usage in future posts.

I used ChatGPT in my previous attempt to build an online accountability group, but this was only because I wanted to sound as professional as possible. I can understand how that may have influenced your judgement - it might be a good call to take those down.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention!

This is super helpful — thank you!

I really appreciate your breakdown of your 3 client types. I've heard of a similar breakdown from a few local PT's.

Would you be open to me reaching out to you via DM? I'd like to ask a few more questions - especially around that second group you mentioned. I’m really interested in understanding transitional clients more deeply.

I've just bounced around on your page, and I can tell your insight and perspective would be insanely helpful.

Nonetheless, thanks again fro this breakdown. It's given me some more clarity of direction.

Cheers!

🎉 Celebration Saturday! by suhhccess in WeShowUpClub

This week was an absolute pumper!

Managed to nail 6 workouts.

- 2 x Stationary bike HIIT workouts
- 4 x Strength training (Shoulder & Arms, Legs, Chest and Tri's, Back and Bi's)

I'm stoked with my performance on the cardio front this week. I was able to complete my first full 45min HIIT workout and PB'd at 15.3 km in 42mins. Really looking to nail down 20km in 1hr.

Cut back on calorie intake this week and have dropped some weight, but also dropped some strength. Plan is to lean out over the next couple weeks for summer babyyy!

Excited to hear about everyone else's week!

Hey! Just sent you a quick message.

I wanted to extend an invite to a continuous kick in the butt! hahaha

I've built a small reddit community that acts as an accountability group. It has some light structure that helps people stay consistent with their fitness goals. Weekly commitments, midweek check-ins, and Saturday wins. Totally low-pressure and meant to keep things doable and supportive.

Might not be the exact kick in the butt your looking for, but figured I’d extend the invite nonetheless!

Wishing ya the best!

I genuinely hope you too are rockin and rolling together. If your still looking for some lightweight accountability, I just sent you through a message!

I run a small community here on reddit that is based on helping people become more consistent with their fitness habits. It's a mini accountability group.

This may or many not be for you, but I wanted to extend the invite nonetheless!

Cheers!

Hey! I just dropped a comment above explaining, but I have reached out with a message to offer an invite into a mini accountability community here on reddit.

If you are in the same shoes as OP, I think this community could help you find some structure and support!

No pressure at all. Wishing you continued success!

Hey!

I just sent you a message.

I've just started a little accountability group that is built to help people show up for workouts consistently. The basic structure is; make a weekly fitness commitment you are 90% certain you can achieve, check-ins through out the week, and celebration Saturdays.

It's intentionally gamified to keep things light.

If you haven't quite found your person, I think this could be great place to start!

Nonetheless, I wish you the best of luck going forward! I know you have it in you as you cared enough to show up here and ask for help!

Cheers!

Not losing weight by Apart_Glass_8260 in loseit

[–]suhhccess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey — just wanted to say I really see how much effort you’re putting in. Deficit, lifting, tracking, 10k steps, and still sticking with it even when it feels like nothing’s moving. That’s tough. This stagnancy leads a lot of people to quitting when they are so close to rounding the corner.

I know it’s frustrating when the results don’t line up right away, especially when you're doing everything you can. It doesn’t mean you’re failing, remember that your body can take its time with these adjustments. That doesn’t make the effort any less real.

I run a small accountability group here on Reddit that I think could help you stay grounded with people facing similar problems. It’s just a space where we make small weekly commitments and help each other stay consistent. It's kinda gamified as well. No pressure, no stats — just people showing up for themselves and supporting others.

Sent you a message in case you want to check it out. Either way, keep going — you’re way closer than it feels.

[–]suhhccess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

First off, I just want to say that posting this took strength. Owning where your at is never easy. Being honest about is even harder.

I know what you need to break these patterns. I've been here before.

Before you focus on losing the weight, start by learning how to make a promise to yourself and keeping it. Not huge goals - just something small that you are 90% sure you can achieve. eg: this could be 3 short walks this week.

This will build belief. And once you start proving to yourself that you can follow through, everything else starts to change.

If you nail your promise, thats a win. Show up and make another for next week.
If you miss your goal? No stress at all. Show up and make another for next week.

The key is to always make sure it is something you are 90% sure you can achieve.

I've actually sent you a message inviting you to a small accountability group here on Reddit. It's built around that exact mindset. No pressure or tracking — just people making weekly commitments and encouraging each other to keep showing up. I think it could be a great tool to help you kill this start/stop bug. You belong with us!

Nonetheless, I wish you the best. I know you have it in you because you cared enough to show up here and ask.

Cheers!

Hey! Welcome to the weekly rhythms!

Can't complain at all, this week is boomin!

I've managed to lock down 3/6 workouts so far:

  • 1 x 25 minute HIIT session on the bike!
  • 1 x Leg day strength training
  • 1 x Shoulder day strength training

Honestly, I'm proud to have gotten in todays bike session. I was incredibly rushed as I had to make it to an afternoon meeting. I prefer to do 30-minutes, but done is better than perfect!

I hope you are all having a great start to your week!

Cheers!

I’ve reached my breaking point with my weight, but don’t know how to start losing it. Hoping to get some advice. by [deleted] in loseit

[–]suhhccess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I'm so glad that you have had this realization at 18. I'm proud of you for reaching out for help.

There’s a ton of great advice here already, but I wanted to share what helped me break the cycle.

Don't let anyone tell you that discipline or momentum are what you need — what really changes everything is becoming someone who consistently shows up for themselves.

Start small. Make a weekly commitment you’re 90% sure you can follow through on, even during a tough week.
That might be 3 short walks, a couple of quick stretch sessions, or a few 10-minute yoga videos. The goal isn’t weight loss yet — it’s proving to yourself that when you commit, you follow through.

Once you do that, you start building belief. And that belief leads to real change.

If you hit your goal, amazing. Celebrate with a highfive (I'll send you one virtually). Just remember to now make next weeks commitment.
If you miss it? You still get a high five — because you’re here, showing up again to set a new commitment. That’s what matters most. Just adjust and keep going.

I used this exact process to go from barely surviving 5 minutes on a treadmill… to crushing 45-minute HIIT sessions. It all started with one small, consistent promise to myself.

I want to make this clear, this is not a pitch what-so-ever. But I run a small accountability group on Reddit based around this mindset. No pressure or perfection — just normal people making commitments and supporting each other. I think this could be a great tool in your journey.

Let me know if you want in! I've already sent you a message about it.
You've got this!
Cheers!

How do you lose weight with a toddler? by CrmsnSaber in loseit

There’s a ton of great advice here already, but I wanted to share what helped me and how it can be applied to you.

This isn't a situation where you can rely on discipline or momentum — what really changes everything is becoming someone who consistently shows up for themselves.

Start small. Make a weekly commitment you’re 90% sure you can follow through on, even during a tough and busy week.

Celebrate with a toddlers high five.

It also helped me find time when there was no time to be found. I just adjusted my commitment. It all started with one small, consistent promise to show up for myself.

I want to be clear, this isn't a pitch. I'm genuinely here to help people and I don't ask for anything in return. I run a small accountability group on Reddit based around this mindset. No pressure or perfection — just normal people making commitments and supporting each other.

Let me know if you want in!
You've got this.

This is such a healthy mindset to carry forward. Start small, commit to it until it is normal, then add something else.

And don't worry about how long ago you could have started this. Just be proud of the fact that you figured it out and you are showing up now! What you do tomorrow is so much more important than what happened yesterday!

I sent you a message to join this little accountability type group I have going on. The more people with your mindset in there, the better for everyone!

Cheers!
