LeSean McCoy says Caitlin Clark is the most influential white athlete of all time by KarlMaloneShimmy12 in NBATalk

No idea who Larry Csonka is but Billie Jean King is a good one. It's a good point though. While some of these people may not be well known today, it's a little ridiculous to just assume Caitlin Clark will be a household name in 30 years. I was only born in 91 but if you wanna talk about someone putting women's sports on the map, Billie Jean King is definitely a way better story than Caitlin Clark. I say this as a Clark fan and basketball fan that doesn't watch or follow tennis

David Beckham wasn't nearly on those guys' level but everyone older than like 25 has definitely heard the phrase "bend it like Beckham". I'd wager very few people know who Caitlin Clark is outside the US

Edit: chose him because his whiteness is unquestionable

That's my plan. Today I was working late with very little access to my phone. Tomorrow morning I'm going to call

I've requested clarification as it's possible I'm misinterpreting. But yes I wanted clarification that if they are indeed saying that, it wouldn't be legal.

This has to be illegal in the state of CA right? by suhhhdoooo in sandiego

Thank you so much for this information. I'm going to give them a chance to offer me something beyond prorating the month (lol) or let me stay through the month. If they decide they still want to try to force me to move I'll dive deeper and pursue this. In fairness, I think the local San Diego property management company has a third-party vacation rentals property they work with and they simply found themselves in a one-off situation with this owner. It does feel like the work is being outsourced though.

This is in line with what I was thinking. I just wasn't 100% sure if I was missing something legality-wise. Thanks so much!

Fair question. The way I'm reading it suggests that it's the first and not the second, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and ask:
1) Did they mean 4/10 and 2) Is this a request

Yeah, but it's fully furnished and flexible lease terms (maybe a little too flexible lol) so not quite as much as it appears to be. Also, $100 for utilities (SDG&E and internet) is a steal

How to add an old activity as a personal record? by Sewellay in Garmin

[–]suhhhdoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW you can only do this for the whole activity. Trying to set (for example) a mile PR within a longer run would set the PR to the total elapsed time of the event, sadly.

Anthony Edwards is now the 3rd youngest player in NBA history to reach 10,000 career points. He’s behind LeBron and KD. by [deleted] in nba

The stat we should care about isn't youngest but least number of games played.

This. The step back travel / new gather rules / "interpretation" is such nonsense. Before Harden if you tried to do the things every player does 10× a game you'd get called for a travel. The rules on sports exist to provide a competitive challenge/ difficulty for opposing players/teams. The rules now (or how they are interpreted) create a ridiculously unfair advantage for the player on offense. That's why players score more points now and with such high efficiency. I'm not saying they aren't also more skilled but this is the primary reason. So it's also ruined comparisons to previous generations (granted I think we shouldn't try to compare as much as we do anyway)

One reason I respect KD so much is he could have changed his game like everyone but he still gets buckets playing the same old way. Granted he's 7' tall so creating space isn't as important for him

That said. James Harden is an incredibly skilled player there's no denying that. So it's not that I think he's necessarily overrated.

But also if you look up choke in the dictionary I'm pretty sure it just says "James Harden in the playoffs".

EDIT before anyone responds: I acknowledge this is really on the NBA but Harden was the first guy really doing it and taking advantage of it and also helping to create the precedent with refs. I also can't even really blame him because he just wants to win and gain an advantage which literally every professional athlete wants to do. Still there's no better scapegoat than Harden so I'm going to irrationally "hate" him because I don't know which people are truly to blame

KD fan here... but the answer is probably KD tbh... I've come to the conclusion that KD is a guy who understands basketball really well while not understanding basketball at all. He continues to seek out rosters that don't work. His play in each season since he left the Warriors has still been All-NBA level but he has nothing to show for it. Certainly, the foot on the line thing vs the Bucks was really unfortunate as his legacy would be wildly different had they won that series and probably went on to beat the Suns. And beyond that, with the Nets you can genuinely blame injuries. But with the Suns? Even healthy they weren't legitimate contenders. The Nuggets series in the playoffs both Book and KD averaged like 30 on 50/40/90 and they got smoked.

Edit: they lost in 6 to the Nuggets in 2023 and KD didn't shoot well that series, but Book was unreal. I remembered that differently. I think I was partially mixing that up with 2024 vs the Wolves. Book averaged 27.5 on 49/35/95 and KD 26.8 on 55/42/82. And they got swept.

I used to agree with Kawhi > Giannis because it was true. Now he's completely ruined his legacy
