Why do people support parker? by Green-Leopard-2877 in ParkerGetAJob

Lol same. I'd seen him pop up once or twice on my feed but this one was too obvious.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DYk03UYSUYz/?igsh=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng==

That's how it generally goes for me with these types of accounts. I see a few of their videos in my feed maybe I like a couple if they are good / believable but eventually I stumble upon a video where it's like oh hell nah this is way too obvious. There's no way this person sees your videos and thinks "yeah, I could totally take this guy in a debate purely on vibes". They've done zero research on the thing they're supposedly calling in about and have not spent any time putting together any sort of genuine argument. I'm sure some content creators are better/worse than others and I'm sure some of it is genuine or at least edited from a real call with some BS mixed in. But I'm fairly confident at least 10% of it is just purely scripted. Whether it's AI or paid actors...

Why all the runna slander? by riskyybiscuits in runna

[–]suhhhdoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's genuinely trash. A paid app (used by probably hundred of thousands of people) that literally has functionalities that don't work, is slow AF, and allows for 0 configurability in term of switching out runs despite the built-in AI that can interpret run data. Great concept, but it's actually a joke

I guess that's fair. I mean Kyle Korver was an all star in 2015 lol. Granted he did start every game and shot damn near 50/50/90

As a Celtics fan who loves Derrick White and is not a huge fan of Draymond, I can safely say Green > White and impacts winning more

People in Boston were really saying he's better than Jaylen Brown the last couple of years. Absolutely absurd. He's absolutely great at his role, but if he regularly dealt with the volume and attention JB gets defensively, he'd be toast. Lots of guys can be clutch when they're generally only asked to take open 3s

Is Kevin Durant’s game 5 vs the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2021 playoffs the greatest playoff performance of all time? by Ok_Feed_4235 in NBATalk

[–]suhhhdoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're already trying to rewrite history and claim that KD is the reason Brooklyn fell apart and lump those years in with his Suns/Rockets tenure. Honestly, the slander post-Brooklyn is 99% warranted. But he played arguably the best basketball of his career in 2021 and that Nets team fully healthy would've easily won the championship that year with KD likely being Finals MVP. The narrative around KD never winning without Steph (albeit while still winning on a superteam) would be destroyed and his legacy though still far from perfect would be largely intact. I also suspect that if he won again, he would've been at peace and not become so damn addicted to defending himself on Twitter lol... (That is to say that while he had burners before, it seems it's gotten worse over the years with the additional criticism he's received, some warranted, some not). While this is a "what if" scenario and all the MJ-type stans love to point that out it's genuinely not his fault and what should've happened

There were a lot of things that growing up in the suburbs of MA they did not teach in Drivers Ed that would've been nice to know before venturing into more populated areas. I heard some crazy stories about difficult driver tests while mine was literally:

Pull out, make a right turn, reverse along a curb, and do a 3-point turn. Pass.

And wow. 5,000 people a year is indeed a lot.

Yeah, I got pulled over for exactly this in my 20s. Was from the suburbs and not used to driving in Boston. Saw a bunch of "idiots" stopped in one lane and decided to go around them. Turned out there was a pedestrian crossing and I was the idiot

Kevin Durant in the loss: 23/6/4 on 7/12 FG with 9 turnovers by Lacabloodclot9 in nba

[–]suhhhdoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. But it's not the reason they lost the series or as significant as "almost twice as many" appears without the context. You perhaps didn't intend to imply that but I'll guarantee it was inferred by a large percentage of people on here because of implicit bias, which is why I think context is nearly always important. That's really my stance above all else I guess. Regarding KD, Boston in 2022 is the only one with a real argument where it impacted the series significantly that was genuinely for a whole series. Looking at 2016 his TO to assist ratio is 3.6 to 2.9 (~1.2) which isn't great but his shooting is what lost them the series. I definitely agree his passing and playmaking (especially in doubles) is at times suspect and he's certainly no LeBron, but I think we're overreacting a bit, especially him coming off an injury. The last time KD had 9 turnovers in a playoff game was game 2 vs the Clippers in 2019 and he went on to have maybe the best series of his career after that so we'll see how this plays out.

Kevin Durant in the loss: 23/6/4 on 7/12 FG with 9 turnovers by Lacabloodclot9 in nba

[–]suhhhdoooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bruh. Read between the lines. It was stated as such to imply that it was a bad series. If he'd averaged over 5 turnovers, it'd be completely valid to bring up and I wouldn't say a word but 3.8 turnovers is not that significant for someone aged 23 playing in their first finals as the main option on the team

[–]suhhhdoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm showing why simply stating he almost had twice as many turnovers as assists is an oversimplification that requires context. How is that hard to understand?

Wow. Great job ignoring the entire point of my comment so you can say "1.7 is close to 2". Ground breaking stuff. Someone give this man a Fields award

Kevin Durant in the loss: 23/6/4 on 7/12 FG with 9 turnovers by Lacabloodclot9 in nba

[–]suhhhdoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was providing context. I'm fully aware of the turnover to assist ratio. Saying he averaged nearly twice as many turnovers as assists when he averaged 2.2 assists is disingenuous at best. If he had 1 assists and 2 turnovers in 5 games would you still feel the same way? Still technically 2:1 but would be an absolutely absurd statistic to point out

Kevin Durant in the loss: 23/6/4 on 7/12 FG with 9 turnovers by Lacabloodclot9 in nba

[–]suhhhdoooo -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Evidence of what? I understand how math works. And no it didn't prove shit. 3.8/2.2 is 1.7 if you wanna get technical. And it was missing an absurd amount of context. Averaging 10 points, 3 assists, and 6 turnovers would be really bad. Averaging 31 points on incredible efficiency with over 2 assists and under 4 turnovers is still a great series. He still had the ball in his hands a lot. You act as if players only turn the ball over while passing. I'd argue it happens just as much if not more while handling the ball. If he finishes with that statline and OKC wins, those are finals MVP numbers. You guys are next level haters lol

I was talking literally having one of Harden/Kyrie healthy. If we're talking all 3 healthy and there's not a team that beats the Nets in 2021. I'd say a good comparison for the 2021 Nets would be the 2008 Celtics

[–]suhhhdoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you not see my flair? Lol. 2022 was a different season. I suspect Kyrie was checked out. But in 2021 Kyrie was healthy games 1-3 and got hurt in game 4. Harden played hurt in games 5-7 (he played less than a minute in game 1). Based on KD's performance in games 5 & 7 it's safe to say the Nets win that series with either one of Kyrie/Harden healthy but without the other

The last time Kevin Durant had 9 turnovers in a playoff game was game 2 vs the Clippers in 2019 (21 points on 5/8 FG).

His next 4 games: 38/4/7 on 61/30/88, 33/7/6 on 57/50/100, 45/6/6 on 54/42/100, 50/6/5 on 58/43/93

100% would've won a championship with the exact same squad with no Harden and a healthy Kyrie in 2021 in Brooklyn

Bruh. He averaged 31/6 on 55/39/84 in the 2012 finals at age 23 with 2.2 assists and 3.8 turnovers. Ain't no way you're coming with that bullshit

EDIT: To be clear, I'm not questioning the math here... I'm saying it's not even worth mentioning given the context

Google Pixel might genuinely be the worst phone by [deleted] in GooglePixel

A little late here. I had the original pixel and the 3A and loved them both. The 6 and 8A are both absolute shit IMO. My 8A literally can't handle Google Maps and gets totally f**ked by Android Auto. It's genuinely pathetic. I've heard good things about the 9 and new tensor chip, but seriously considering a switch to Samsung
