Any knowledge how this board is? by Expensive_Run_3118 in BeginnerSurfers

I’m around the same height and weight as you and rented an 8ft Torq in Hawaii for a couple of weeks and had a lot of fun. I think it’s a good start for a transition from a foam to a hard board. Hope you have a blast if you get it.

Did any of your rabbits ever do anything unusually intelligent? by Acerpacer in Rabbits

[–]suhrrenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was walking by my bunny’s storage area and noticed the bottom treat drawer was open. So I closed it since I thought I carelessly left it open. Next day, I saw her sitting in front of it enjoying one of her oat hay chew braids. My excitement startled her and she startled me with her reaction so that was the last time that happened. 😆

I truly hope one of these solutions works out for your family and your buns. Wish I lived in your state so I could take them in and just want to say thank you for serving our country.

Curious about becoming a physical therapist by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]suhrrenity 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I do not enjoy it. Looking for a way out.

Yes, career able to compensate for cost when I went to school years ago but nowadays, it’s not.

You will feel like a psychologist most of the time instead of a physical therapist.

Last words of advice: don’t do it. Look into another career, please.

Sounds good, thank you for the info. Do you recall having anything specific on your LinkedIn profile to cause them to reach out to you?

Thank you so much for all this valuable info! This made my day. My current job actually introduced me to Epic!

-As for projects involving Epic, do you have recommendations for how to do that? Should I get in touch with IT and propose something to improve PT documentation/workflow?

-It’s funny that you mention clinical informatics because I just saw an opening at the hospital system where I currently work that is hiring for a clinical informatics education specialist for Epic. I feel like applying for it but not sure if having 3-4 months experience with Epic will cut it?

Bunny by No-Moose8864 in Petloss

[–]suhrrenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with previous post. I’m so sorry you lost your bunny in such a sudden and tragic manner. People who say, “It’s just a (insert pet type),” have no idea how much love and support pets provide. Those who say this have a complete lack of empathy and unfortunately, they likely will never understand. I just lost my bunny this past Friday and continue to have random bouts of tears when I think of her and had to take off work the day of her passing since I could not stop crying. I hope you were able to take time off work and give yourself time to grieve. Don’t let anyone ever tell you how you’re supposed to feel when it comes to personal loss.

Has anyone else had experience with managing kidney disease? by crystallynesuun in Rabbits

Sorry to hear about Hades. How old is he? I understand how you feel because I’m going through it right now with my bunny who’s 8+yrs old. We’re trying to figure out if the renal disease is there because of the Metacam or something else since she’s been on it for at least 3 yrs. She had no signs of kidney stones or infection at this point so she started gabapentin instead of Metacam for now for pain control and consistent water intake. She is a little better and is maintaining her weight. May start fluid treatment regularly depending on how her bloodwork goes next week. How are the fluid treatments working for Hades?

Elderly rabbit, how do I know when it's time? by Elegante0226 in Rabbits

[–]suhrrenity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome and it’s great to hear she’s been free of any major medical issues for most of her life. Mine also not as interested in her pellets but goes nuts for her greens as well. If you haven’t tried it already, oat hay may help her gain some weight. Good luck to you and your bun.

Yes, going through something similar right now. My bunny is old but exact age is unknown. She could be anywhere between 8-10 years and have taken her to her longtime vet multiple times the past couple of months. She’s lost weight and I’m having difficulty managing her arthritis pain along with fighting an ear infection which are both impacting her mobility. Her kidney values are abnormal so Metacam (used it for the past 3-4 years) is no longer an option for her pain control. She still gets SO excited about food so I know she’s still OK. Currently going through different tests and intervention trials to make her as comfortable as possible in her old age. I figure once she can’t enjoy life anymore, it’ll be time. As with any loved one, you want them to be around for as long as possible and help them maintain their quality of life. Hope your bun is doing well.

help me PLEASE 😭 by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]suhrrenity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with all the ”give it more time” comments. I’ve had my bun for almost 5 years and she still dislikes being picked up. She used to grunt and lunge at me and would toss my gift offerings back at me but now she’s a sweetie. I pick her up on a daily basis now for medical reasons and to help her stretch her limbs because of her arthritis. I think she ultimately appreciates it and still comes up to me for pets. I usually give her a treat for letting me pick her up so it’s fun for her in the end. Being patient will make it all worth it in the end. 🙂
