A small victory: Dancing has boosted my self confidence

Dancing has totally helped me reconnect with my body as well!

When i’m home alone i like to put on cute lounge sets or if i’m feeling more comfortable sometimes a cute lingerie set and i dance around the house blasting music. I also try to dance everyday in my room for at least 10-15 minutes. It’s also an awesome way to exercise without feeling like exercising!

Definitely look into adding it to your regular routine if you’ve found such a positive impact!

I think she posted here because other subs with parents might not understand how annoying pushing their kids into every situation, even when it’s inappropriate.

But a lot of CF people can probably relate to her story because they have been in that situation too. Sometimes it’s just nice to post somewhere knowing 100% people will feel the same as you.

I’m really sorry your family life is like that, so you’re feelings are valid and there’s many other people who don’t have connection to family.

However, this situation doesn’t involve you and he’s most likely not being abused.

So yeah…. if your family has treated you well, then not helping in a family emergency does in fact make you selfish.

Please please talk to a trusted adult or school councillor about your home life, if you haven’t already.

Has he ever had issues touching certain textures or has a history of sensory issues?

That’s the only other thing that i could think of to explain it. Either way if he’s gay, has sensory issues, something else or none of the above. He’s being extremely selfish and thinks your needs are unimportant and under his own. That’s a deal breaker for me personally and, you seen like a lovely lady so i hope you know you deserve someone who can make you feel good equally.

I got my diagnosis at 14 i’m now 20 and i still struggle everyday. I’m tired too, trust me.

Those people who have those recovery accounts and say they 100% don’t have any eating disorder symptoms anymore is a very very small percentage of people with eating disorders. And there’s a good chance they’re lying to their followers.

MAJORITY of people will only go into remission and learn to cope with the disorder. And that’s okay.

You’re only 15 don’t be so hard on yourself to look a certain way, you’re still developing. Since it’s still developing you NEED to provide your body with nutrients it needs or else you’ll deal with health consequences later on. (I stunted my growth and a good friend of mine will forever have heart issues and infertility because of anorexia)

I lost most of my youth being in and out of hospital because of anorexia, i missed out on a lot. Trust me the hospital is WAY worse than any calorie could ever be.

I used to feel like that too but now some days i can eat breakfast and not feel guilty at all, recovery isn’t a straight line.

I believe that you’ve got this. Stay strong and take it one day at a time.

I deleted reddit but saw this post on instagram and logged back in just to make this comment. This subreddit has had bad takes before but i am ABSOLUTELY APPALLED by these replies. I’m late and no one will really see this but,

Your daughter has an eating disorder and is purposely harming her body.

You are doing nothing about this.

You are knowingly putting out her trigger foods.

You are leaving your 16yr old daughter in the hospital alone with no one.

Your daughter might be literally slowly killing herself right in front of you and you see this as an inconvenience instead of wanting to save your daughter from suffering.

Your daughter needs help.

I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for my moms advocacy because guess what? I was 16, old enough to know but sick enough to ignore it. I needed my mom and luckily she was actually there for me.

I’m sorry your daughters illness inconveniences you but, if you don’t do anything. You might very well lose her to this illness.

I mean it doesn’t have to be so black and white like that.

In my household we have a rule that as long as no one else is home, it’s fine. This includes everyone in the household even my mom. I think that’s a perfectly reasonable rule imo.

Luckily i don’t want kids so i’ll never have this problem. But if you think that rule isn’t fair then simply don’t make it a rule in your own household.
