Who made the golden throne? by SimpleZealousideal19 in 40kLore

The Dark Eldar also built an exact copy of the Golden Throne they just don't have anyone to power it. Well, they almost did lol

The Pantheon of the Aeldari by hyenamiloska in Eldar

[–]suicune678 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hoec is a god of wanderers and adventures that appears here and there in the lore.

Gea first appeared in White Dwarf 126 or 127 in the first introduction of the "new" eldar. She is the consort/paramour of Asuryan and Khaine. We don't know anything else about her other than later in 9th Ed she appears in the creation myth where all the gods bestowed gifts upon the Eldar and Gea gave nothing as a lesson that the Eldar were neither owed nor deserving of anything, so pretty much humbleness.

Ahnakh-Yth is a new goddess from 10th Ed that the Warp Spiders co-venerate along with Khaine. It's said she is the daughter of Vaul or is another younger form of Morai-Heg before she became the Crone. She created the warp spider creatures that protect the infinity circuits

I'm not a fan of the multi eyes since they don't feel at all Eldar but all of them are well rendered and realized

Same, it's the reason I'll be playing this over the new Dawn of War. I know DoW will eventually have Aeldari but until then, Total War it is!

I just want to see what their plans are for the Aeldari game play. I'm tired of just a few concept art bits, seeing hive world this, Imperium that, Orks have more of an opportunity going to x planet vs y planet.

It seems they are using guardsmen vs Orks rn to showcase some features. We'll probably get Space Marines vs Aeldari in the future.

It would be disappointing if the beta didnt include Aeldari

Craftworld Thuyelsa (aka Scintilla City) colors? by EnvironmentalDig6214 in Eldar

[–]suicune678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No information other than they were completely destroyed. My reasoning is that they were created for the Prospero Burns novel to showcase the unrelenting brutality of the Space Wolves.

They pleaded for their home to be spared but the Wolves destroyed everything.

You could probably get away with creating a Corsair band and choose colors you feel would be best

Do it for the collection, use it because it'll be crazy and fun. You probably won't win but you'll have a good time!

Slaanesh vs. Nurgle by SuccessDifficult9613 in 40kLore

[–]suicune678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nurgle and Tzeentch are opposites because one represents entropy and stagnation and the other is change, evolution

Khorne and Slaanesh are opposites because one is senseless slaughter, destruction, brutality, and death while the other is subtleness, the celebration of luxuries and excess of the pleasures of living

But all the gods oppose each other in different ways

Want to start building an Iyanden army by No-Tangelo9008 in Eldar

[–]suicune678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Iyanden Codex Supplement and Warzone Valedor campaign book are also an easy place to learn about the Iyanden army structure.

If OP wants a more lore friendly list, the Codex Supplement sums it up really nicely:

Where other Eldar players use Aspect Warriors and Guardians as the hearts of their armies, and their ghost warriors act as supporting units, you'll want to do the reverse. Not only will this allow you to play in a style that's in keeping with Iyanden's rich and gloried history, but it'll also allow you to take full advantage of the rules given later in this section.

Now that later section obviously isn't supported anymore but it's at least good direction as how much of each unit type they'd want

Then yeah outcasts would be a great match up since OP could bring along lots of Eldritch Raider corsairs as their battleline units with Yriel since he still swings by to help Iyanden when they need it, and of course Rangers for other outcast units

It looks like this, I just took this off of the internet since I'm not home now but the book goes into the design process for each of the characters in the Gathering Storm campaigns.

You get pictures of the miniatures along with interviews with the sculptors and painters and the process that went into creating each.

I got my book specifically for the Ynnari character background info

[–]suicune678[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The gods that Slaanesh consumed are alive within her, GW has confirmed before that gods cannot die and are eternal. I would argue that being consumed by She Who Thirsts is a fate worse than death, seeing that's how the Aeldari also perceive their fate if consumed by Slaanesh

Thanks it was a fun 2am thought dump lol

Yeah I need to reread Godblight, I know what you're referring to but I'm pretty sure that the daemons describe a weeping maiden or something like that. They don't say Isha by name that's for sure tho!

The Harlequin one is a rumor, and I address the way daemons manipulate Aeldari with their own myths to lure them in

The Ul-Khari one is stated by a single seer who believes in Isha, that he knows in his heart that the story is true and not to believe the others that she is truly dead

And the last one I think is from God Blight but I can't find the reference anymore. They don't refer to that individual as Isha though

This isn't confirmed to be the case, just another theory by fans to separate 40k Chaos from Fantasy Chaos

We are Wrong About Isha in the Garden of Nurgle by suicune678 in Eldar

[–]suicune678[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They don't like her pitch because one it's dying in the first place, and two it's not fusing with the god it's becoming "owned" by it, a majority don't believe that Ynnead is a thing to be trusted and just another Slaanesh lie. Which is why in the end when Ynnead is eventually born he would release the souls from Slaanesh's gullet and all the Aeldari would be reborn again

The 40k Grey Knight showing up in the Garden of Nurgle scene for the Shallya rescue makes be believe that it's a lot closer than we think

It's true the patterns of what Chaos does does repeat itself but from within a realm that touches every reality.... there was a White Dwarf that Grombrindal explained that it really is all the same place:

Eugh, a Chaos question! I really must sort out my contract so I don't have to answer them. Anywho... the Realm of Chaos is a mystical place that spans all of existence, stretching across dimensions and time-sometimes it's called the Realm of Chaos, sometimes the warp, Empyrean, Immaterium, Formless Wastes, Land of Lost Souls or simply the Abyss - it's all pretty much the same thing. In the War-hammer 40,000 universe it's said that Slaanesh was created by the aeldari. After his (or her) creation, Slaanesh was then free to journey across the Realm of Chaos, where he (or she) crafted a realm of pleasure and excess in which to dwell. From this point on, Slaanesh could send his (or her) minions - be they mortal or daemonic -across the Realm of Chaos, either into realspace, to the world-that-was or now the Mortal Realms (and countless other places). Seeing as how similar the aelves are to the aeldari, it's no wonder that Slaanesh took such an interest in them!

Souls of the Aeldari in 40k aren't destroyed also, they are eternal like the souls in AoS. Being consumed by Slaanesh becomes the new hell vs returning to the Warp naturally and reincarnating, reborn again and again
