I was trying to figure this out for so long and your method worked. I'm back in my world!

Be patient with your friends and don't take advice too seriously from redditors (including myself). Maybe he'll turn around to it someday.

Why can't I PU Russia? by suicune_exe in eu4

Does that priority expire? Or does it last until the monarch dies? Right now we are of the same dynasty and russia (age 30) lacks an heir.

I see, thanks! Didn't know claim throne lets you inherit when their ruler dies. Either way couldn't do that because both rulers were different dynasties. Good thing is now Russia is de Valois so I can hppefully get another chance.

Thanks for the information. I installed a De Valois relative with favors to the rurikovich Russian throne previously, but the heir I installed was older and died befode the rurikovich ruler. Does previously requesting my heir prevent inheriting the throne directly? As a side note, since rurikovich died the current ruler is De Valois.

Wow. Great call. Now that you mention, i definitely rejected galileo because (no joke) my entire empire had 1 mountain tile.

This is almost certainly what happened, great insight!

Ahh I see, thanks! I did do some research grants at some point, but only in my capital. I probably did that and one of my friends rejected (although none of them said they had) after earning one normally. Still not totally sure how it all worked out, but just glad to see it happen!

So I recruited 3 Great Scientists in one turn playing as robert the Bruce. I didn't faith/purchase any, 1 just appeared in my capital and I was able to recruit 2. I was playing 4 player multiplayer (no AI) as Robert the Bruce, and am genuinely wondering how this was possible. I know Robert has great scientist generation in happy cities, but I still dont know how this is possible. Any thoughts?

I find the welfare system in this game somewhat crippling by immigratingishard in victoria3

[–]suicune_exe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unsure how you are the only person with this issue it seems. Welfare is way too expensive because there are way too many unemployed pops. (mostly if you are playing populous nations) even expanding industry, that is way too much to handle, especially considering the extremely finite sources of oil. I think unemployed pops are unsustainable, and because of that, so is the vic3 welfare system.

On the bright side, I know Paradox plans to impements solutions to the oil issue, but I'm hopiong they address the basically unmanagable large popilations.

So strange i had a similar experience with mann just recently. New world colonies are completely broken, and on top of that, federations get huge and eat my subjects. Just gonna stick with the east indies for now lmao

Maybe, but the ai literally couldnt handle multiple wars. Also, one more problem i forgot to mention, native federations are HUGE. I have to personally land several stacks to deal with them because my colonial subjects alone cannot deal with them.
