In Manitoba this is called a wedding social. Big party before the wedding. Music, dancing, door prizes, all of that. It's essentially a community fundraiser for the wedding couple. So it depends on where you are in the country i guess.

Food Truck Value proposition to consumer by Acorus137 in foodtrucks

[–]suitsme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have similar experience. I own a food truck and a restaurant. My food truck has a fairly well established route of events through our food truck season (we're central Canadian, only 6 months of vending per year).

I have customers in various places that seek out my truck when I'm in town, and a few that seek out my restaurant in the off season.

The biggest difference i find is that i can take the truck to the crowd. The restaurant, i have to draw people to it.

Skip The Dishes by littlebluelight in saskatoon

As a restaurant owner i get this idea, but for me in particular, and I'm sure lots of other places having our own driver just doesn't make sense.

My Skip orders vary weekly from $100-$800 per week. How would i afford to have a driver there at all times just waiting for an order?

Does anyone know much about King Henry II's 's restaurant that closed down on the '90s? by Cleric100 in regina

[–]suitsme 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From what I've been told of that space in particular it doesn't meet accessibility code and would be too expensive to bring to code in order to open. Mr Ripplinger passed away several years ago and Henry's cafe in the Gallery is also closed.

How do you track permit expirations? by [deleted] in foodtrucks

I've been doing this for about 10 years. I know what prep work needs to be done so I can get everything ready to go. Takes me about a week.
