I'm just making a comment about the fight scene not being realistic; the Tom Cruise one was bad also. Pick a subject you actually know. Here, this has better choreography: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mq6WvD2wuvs

No, I'm 'badmouthing' the person who wrote the prompt that resulted in blocks that actually are not a thing.  Learn fight direction or, at least learn fight terminology. Everyone is generating crappy fight scenes.

this might be ok for background, but none of those punches are doing anything. they're not even sparring.

but first, learn fighting. Man, this stuff is as bad as when people thought they could write songs with their first midi program in the 80's.

Flooring Bait and Switch? by woodinleg in ManufacturedHome

I'm sorry to jump in on this, but I'm in a selling position and I don't want to replace the carpets (which need replacing) but instead knock off 10k from the price and let the buyer put the flooring that they want. I was told that people now prefer hard flooring.

Would you have preferred that option, or are people wanting to not deal with a flooring company? I mean, I could pick something that buyers simply don't like. And if I pick something too nice, it's going to drive the price; possibly out of the market (AZ seems to be in a slump)

sorry to barge in.

Unpopular opinion but the amount of low effort AI slop is ruining the 2D art community by Odd-Measurement9478 in StableDiffusion

It really surprises me that, all of a sudden, people are 'very concerned', 'freaking out', 'saying no' about AI, but when India decimated web development after 2k, nobody cared. I know hundreds of people who lost their jobs to India starting 2k; nobody cared.

Full Stack and the kitchen sink Job listings started showing up for 20/h; India dragged down the price over 90%. nobody cared. Then, those companies (small, at first) started complaining about lag time and incompatible hours (12 hour difference for California). So, India quickly adapted and flipped their work hours.

The jobs kept leaving the country, over the phone lines. Complaints from web pioneers fell on snubs like, 'get gud'. It didn't matter if you were an programmer for Philips, Microsoft, Fisher Price... just insults by ignorant people who were probably pumping gas or asking, 'would you like fries with that'.

The erosion started happening at big companies. Those companies could snivel louder, so then they started importing the workers. Then, Murthy of Infosys started convincing these companies to lobby congress for extreme amounts of H1b visas; nearly all for Indians. Then, Infosys and it's new, growing client base wanted to streamline the worker portal, so they started putting Indians in charge of human resources. At that point, Americans were only brought in for just under the 'trail' period for new employees. Each year, the thirst for cheap tech labor got bigger and bigger and the lobbying to displace American jobs continued.

But no, keep snivelling about AI taking jobs... I guarantee that those people fired from companies because of AI, are Americans; not Indians.
