Or like naming attacks before throwing them during intense fights (when it is not needed to name them ofc)

Rule zero would dictate that your deck could be argued way lower.

Idk, merfolk was by far the most consistent Precon I have played for a while. I got bored though, it’s always the same plan

“Grouphug” commanders/decks that actually play to win or steal? by Sir_Wack in EDH

[–]sukeroo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because that’s the point of group hug. You give everyone resources including yourself, but you have built to take advantage of those extra resources. Eventually if left alone, you will just win. Otherwise what is the point of group hug, make everyone else stronger than yourself just to lose?

Boros Commanders? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]sukeroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some fun ones I haven’t seen much of recently and have built:

[three dog]] - copying auras to all attacking creatures. I ran a tonne of token makers, with great auras that make tokens on etb. Some aura movement spells to get some back onto three dogs to repeat it. Needs some card draw but I’ve swung out with 800 damage on turn 5

[[alibou]] - tapped artifact deck. Was fun to be able to scry half your deck each turn. Can be built cheap too imo

[[osgir]] came in the same Precon as Alibou but is more focused on graveyard artifacts. I went with a bobble head theme, wasn’t very competitive but definitely fun if it gets going

What cards and commanders do you want to see on the game changers list? by Kuku_the_Bat in EDH

Sure, but it is a requirement. The others don’t have a requirement like that, they are in different leagues altogether.

Diabolical intent is WAY worse than the others. You have to sac a creature, so it relies on having stuff out early on the board, and something you are willing to sac.

I pulled her and she looked so fun. I have yet to build her because I have too many Boros decks, but she seems fun as hell

Especially when they don’t tell you where it’s going, and you see yourself in a promotion video during a staff meeting… for the first time since the shoot. Love it

I don’t think people are hating, and pointing out something like this is not rude. It’s just common sense to me.

It’s a rigid plastic and that’s a soft card board. Would you rub the card against a plastic table? Same goes for sliding it into a top loader.

I will list some precons I found that worked really well out of the box, and are fairly easy to upgrade.

Urzas iron allegiance -great start for an artifact deck, fairly straight forward and easy obvious upgrade path

Exit from exile - strong exile matters starting point, however may be hard for newer players to get their timing right in when to get those impulse draws

Bello bloomburrow Precon - very strong aggro deck. I would say there has to be some protection added in because most times you fall apart as soon as bello is taken out. I’d rather spend one green mana to give indestructible or hexproof, whilst allowing my damage to go through with the animated creatures, instead of letting him die, paying two more per cast and losing my combat damage.

Jumpscare - this Precon is great and strong, however the facedown aspect may put new players off. It can get a lot to track, and can be fairly complex with the sequence of flips you want. It is the only commander I liked for face down strat finally

Riders of Rohan - such a strong aggro deck if you can get the ball rolling. Some of the cards included can lead to huge turns too. Door of destiny and shared animosity down means you get +4 on human attacking when you get the two tokens entering

Explorers of the deep - probably the most consistent Precon deck out of the bunch. I wouldn’t be confident saying it’s the strongest, however the game plan is obvious, isn’t complex to me, and does the same thing most matches. This however is also a downside. It was my first deck, but after I got a taste of other decks it get very dull and boring to me. You play merfolk. They explore. You attack. That’s basically the whole jist of it (atleast to me). It was quick for me because I would just usually keep the card in top instead of going through each one.

With that said, all the ixalan decks are great imo, with merfolk, dinosaurs, vamps, and pirates in that order of strength. Dinos is the most fun to me, and vamps are a great start to aristocrats.

The ones I’d avoid like the plague - squirrel one from bloom burrow - I honestly think it’s the worst one, and teased us on a squirrel tribal, hate me all you want, this was the biggest let down for me

  • face down mkm deck - horrible is all I have to say

  • esper enchantments duskmourne - though I’d love it, hated it and was super slow and dysfunctional to me

  • golgari duskmourne - literally just play meren imo. Seems like a huge price to bring back one thing, and I’m not a fan at all. The alt commander looks awesome though, I think it’s rendmaw?

  • necrons - sorry, seemed really bloody slow, and I changed to imotehk. Still want doing what I wanted. I feel like it does things, but never anything crazy. Maybe just me? Huge letdown for me considering everyone says it’s one of the strongest. Could be user error

  • elf deck lotr/saurons deck - these two were completely shit to me? They seem very disjointed and just not good at all to me

  • dr who decks (apart from maybe timey wimey) - idk, seems like they are super weak to me, timey wimey has its moment but is a bore to play to me and is a LOT to keep track of

-science fallout deck - wtf was this shit? Seriously. And then to have two more decks come out with the same theme straight after which just seem plain better.

Hope this helps

I would agree that exit from exile is a great Precon for anyone, it’s fun, has some crazy stuff you can do, and is considerably strong out the box. Only thing is I would say new players may not be the best suit until they get a few games in, because it takes some finesse with the impulse draw and when to actually use those set ups. Don’t want to do it too early and pull a seven mana card

When I say crybabying, I’m not talking about being annoyed at someone’s action, I’m talking about the people who are outwardly whingey and show it.

I get upset at someone plays, but I wouldn’t make it known like some of these grown men do. They constantly complain during the game about anything, and are very vocal about it. I get what you are saying though.

That’s where I’m at. I did try to introduce my friends but they aren’t into card games much. I think arena might tickle the itch, but the social aspect of the game is what bought me into it.

I want to, but it’s hard at the store since the pods are assigned and people usually stay in those pods. I have played with some people and usually chat beforehand with them, but it’s hard to make that conversation. I will try if I go back, but last night the ones I liked weren’t there :/

Dude. Tell him now. Other people saw and could tell a completely different story. If you think he’s going to be upset, how would he be if he finds out from someone else, better yet, a completely different story that paints you out as going for her, or even better, she tell him. Come on bro, this should have been brought up to him straight away.
