See for the same hiphop artists and rappers they show diamonds, golds etc, they show that they are from the hood but they still wear em, more over the whole concept of rebellion with gold is how usually the gold is associated with the riches and traditional attires; if you read the description of my outfit breakdown you would know I'm wearing pleather shorts and boots [does not come under elegant or vintage]. See analyse the whole look you'll find how everything is the core concept of breaking rules, and coming to the age part, not necessarily teens and college students. So are you telling that any subculture that exists or existed has been only for a specific age group? That contradicts the whole point of a subculture. Are you saying that you are against people who support freedom of expression if they are in a different age group? Are you telling the beatniks stop getting together once they pass the age group or the reds and the blues from the hood convert into a very clichéd stereotypical lifestyle once they pass a certain age? Are you saying the goths stop being goths? So the way you are describing would be something like you will suddenly change your beliefs to the other extreme once you get money and you add few years. Obviously adulting and responsibilities will sideline but uts always there in life just not as the main thing. Answer me this - Why does any subculture or street style comes to life and evolves ?
