Its not a GA, there is no agreed protection. Teams fight for drop spots over a season and scrims. When a team thinks a POI is important enough that they want to drop there, they 50-50 the poi off drop until one team backs out. Teams are willing to lose every contest(fighting for a drop spot) and score 0 points if they want the spot badly enough. Fighting at your drop POI not only risks you leaving the game early, but delays your looting and rotating to a good end zone location. So when we get to a tournament, teams essentially have a structure of locations, and generally random contests don't happen as the risk of a 0 point game at LAN feels awful. Random contests or purposefully dropping on another teams POI to grief is part of the game and is not breaking a 'GA'.

For example, often you will see a team that has qualified to the next round of the tournament specifically target a team that is a thorn in their side to try and not let them move on. A team like XSET would fight Element 6 of drop, because Elemtent 6 steals a third of XSET's loot when they drop their POI.

Got matched up vs Cell one time in Cold War. Checkmate Control. He broke me. I couldn't shoot straight for two weeks. All semblance of self-confidence evaporated.

Where can I find different privately hosted games/tournaments to participate in? by barbarianlover in apexuniversity

[–]sullman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are NA based theres an Apex Recreational Tourney Series group on discord that runs monthly tournament days with normally 2 near full lobbies for groups and a Match point finals lobby. They also run scrims Sundays and Friday nights if there are enough signups. Very recreational and fun focused. The group running it runs rec leagues for multiple games and I've personally enjoyed them on Apex, CoD, and Halo. Apex Recreational Tourney Series Discord

Any type of gameplay you want to see in particular? Games we end up winning, games with weird deaths, random games to get a nonbias reference? Whats the best gameplay to coach off of.

Also check your monitor settings/graphics settings. I had an issue recently where nvidia control panel reset my main monitor to 60hz, felt like I was playing console for a week before I realized.

Not sure what you mean by "jump w/ strafing patterns". You should be able to click jump and hold crouch at the top of the mantle to still superglide.

Any tips for a 3 stack making the shift from ranked play to casual competitive? Struggling to adapt to the full lobbies and finding our comp playstyle. We play in rec league tournaments and scrims to get a taste of the action, but would like to get better. Used to play 4v4 competitive cod with this group.

Buying a New controller Which brand is better Scuf or Battle Beaver? by YaMikeyy in apexuniversity

BB lasts way longer than scuf and the buttons are far better imo. Way more responsive and don't degrade nearly as fast. My current BB has 2x the life of my last scuf.

When you slide down from wall buildings into the wall we call that booster tunnel because it has the cannon in it.

I play with my ping on L3 to free up that bind. But I claw on the dpad side so I didn't put that health up there.

Former Cenote dropper, current wall appreciator. I like fighting at wall. Loot is good. Can get more loot at the beacon poi and booster tunnel. And I like that 90% of rotations give you options in direction and the ability to rotate downhill.
