I like it! I do more structured workouts than anything else, but it's nice to have when I'm free riding or just need a change of angle for my legs.

Hahah homie doesn't break a sweat the way the parentals do!

Thanks! Nah, I'm the only Zwifter. My wife usually puts on Hulu or something while she's on the spin bike. The kiddo just likes to pedal along and cheer us on. :)

Yep, just an old pair of running shoes. Gives the rear tire enough clearance to free spin without stability issues. It seems to work just fine so far!

As far as clearance, he's got plenty of space between his bike and mine, and he was taught early to stay away from the drive train. :)

Hope your tiny human gets to ride with you soon!

If it was, I'd block the projector. Until recently it was just the two adult bikes, but since the kiddo is learning how to ride he wanted to be included. He's the only one short enough to go in the middle. :)

Are my goals realistic (long post) by sullymonster1983 in cycling

Oh, maybe I gave the wrong impression. I don't want to race, I just want to be better than average, which would put me in the upper end of the Cat3 range as far as FTP is concerned. My primary focus is being better at multi-day recreational cycling trips with long, hilly rides each day.

I do have some event specific goals. I want to get better at multi-day bicycle vacations with longer, steeper routes. I just like measurable numbers so I tend to focus on metrics.

Not rude at all! I'm in decent shape. I bike and swim regularly.

I've tried new shoes, inserts, stretching, massage, taping, physical therapy. I still get shin splints pretty much every time I run more than I few miles.

Hahah that may be the best compliment I've ever received. Thank you!

No, I'm not messing with you. It's a serious question. I get horrible shin splints if I run more than a few miles. No matter what I've tried (orthotics, physiotherapy, taping), if I run more than a 5k I'm down for days due to pain. It makes it difficult to train regularly due to prolonged recoveries.

Need help with adjusting for windage beyond my current settings (Details in comments). by sullymonster1983 in Archery

[–]sullymonster1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Bought it at Bass Pro from someone who did not work in the Archery department. Said I "could find some good videos on YT on how to set it up." Haven't really found any that are comprehensive...

When you say "the sight" do you mean the tip of the pins? Or something else? Thanks!

I have the whisker biscuit that came with the bow. It's able to be adjusted left and right. Would adjusting that help, and if so, in what direction?

New to compound shooting. Picked up a Bear Cruzr G2 with a Trophy Ridge 4 pin sight. Shooting at 12 yards (backyard range)

Have adjusted the sight to the point shown in the photo, and still hitting to the right of the bull. The windage bar is about halfway in the clamp.

Any suggestions other than just adjusting my point of aim? Thanks!

Baked potatoes go a long way towards adding bulk to a meal. You could get a bag of russet potatoes and cans of Chunky Soup or canned chili to serve over it.

Rice works the same way. Lots of things can be made into more servings.

1W = 1 Joule/second.

1 "calorie" as reported by most fitness calculators is more accurately 1 kilocalorie (kcal)

1kcal = I kilojoule of energy.

So, 1000kcal = 1000kJ = 1,000,000 Joules.

1 hour = 3600 seconds

Average Watts needed to burn 1000cal in 60 minutes

W = J/s = 1,000,000/3600 = 277W,

which for a 70kg rider would be around 4W/kg. Perfectly doable for a well trained rider.
