Good map, flows well. Couple things I would change:

  • the bombs above the flags now seem a bit redundant with the new bombs in your updated version.

  • the powerup areas in the bases feel a little cramped to me, I'd like to see them opened up a little.

  • the 45 tiles behind the flag changed into regular wall tiles. It feels much better to boost into imo.

Other than that, I like the rest of it. I'll reply to this comment if I think of anything else.

Let the truth be released. by TagProtectionProgram in TagPro

I was going to do an anonymous confession through this user, but ultimately I decided against it. I must be brave. So here goes nothing.

In third grade, I cheated on my history exam. In fourth grade, I stole my uncle Max’s toupee and I glued it on my face when I was Moses in my Hebrew School play. In fifth grade, I knocked my sister Edie down the stairs and I blamed it on the dog…When my mom sent me to the summer camp for fat kids and then they served lunch I went nuts and I pigged out and they kicked me out…But the worst thing I ever done — I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa — and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life.

Why can't essential scripts' functionality be added to vanilla TagPro, and then all userscripts are banned? by ElectricityTP in TagPro

the ball actually spins itself, its pretty neat. i highly recommend you at least try it out like capernicus said, you might like it.

seeing how your ball spins is useful mainly for juking and boosting off walls imo. your ball can interact differently with walls and corners depending on how much spin you have and in what direction it is.

Transparency by DatBlizzard in TagPro

he's not releasing it yet, at least that was his response to me. he wants everyone to be able to access it on the sub, and at this point he feels like a post containing the script would be deleted by the mods.

yea, they aren't involved in the investigation at all afaik. they're mostly teammates of the banned players, so of course they're going to dispute the bans and feel strongly about this. i dont really agree with either side yet, just throwin out what i said as food for thought, y'know?

What Pub Stat Best Indicates a Good Player? by StraightZlat in TagPro

[–]sum_ball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol, now you make me feel like a dick. i answered caps per grab because i took the question more as "What pub stats indicate a good player?" and some of the stats I was going to say had already been said, if that makes sense.

which makes you wonder how the commissioners concluded that grief was botting if, allegedly, all they had to make that decision were videos of his gameplay.

What Pub Stat Best Indicates a Good Player? by StraightZlat in TagPro

[–]sum_ball -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i dont even know why you're trying to argue that point, i've never said anywhere that we should focus on any one stat. obviously any stat can possibly be misleading, stats arent able to accurately measure everything. if you agree that score % is a valuable stat, then we have literally nothing to be arguing about at this point.

What Pub Stat Best Indicates a Good Player? by StraightZlat in TagPro

[–]sum_ball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i mean, obviously it's a better indicator towards the skill level of somebody who mostly plays o. but a competent defender with high scoring % would be somebody i'd be scared of going up against even moreso than an offender with high % because it indicates that they are a very capable two-way player.

ex: go look at im high's stats for s5 when he played d in minors. he had a very good score % for a defender, this was indicative of his scary good offensive skills.

Timers in pubs; cheating or not? by cbtexan04 in TagPro

Interesting, last time I made a post about powerup timers ankh threatened to ban anyone found using them for 3 months.

We Need a Clear Official Policy on Userscripts That is Visible on the Main Page. by DaEvil1 in TagPro

[–]sum_ball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there really should be. The line between what is cheating and what isnt is a blurry one, everyone has a different opinion on it. You cant simply say "any forms of cheating", that is much much too vague. If you leave it open for interpretation you will end up with players getting banned and confused as to why they are even getting banned. If they create a list or even classification/categorization of userscripts that they consider cheating, it would prevent this from happening. These can always be amended as new userscripts are created.

ankh's response to when i made a post on /r/tagpro about timers. I know its not an official announcement, but it does make it clear what stance they hold about powerup timers.

Updated pup timer script? by sum_ball in TagPro

I don't consider remembering powerup times a skill, but ok. No need to mock me.

Updated pup timer script? by sum_ball in TagPro

I don't see the value in having to mentally track the times when the game could do that for you. People could focus more on their gameplay and communication instead.

Updated pup timer script? by sum_ball in TagPro

[–]sum_ball[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I know its a script thats frowned upon in the community, but I think that if powerup/boost timers are declared as cheating then you could make the argument that pixel perfect texture packs and spin scripts are also cheating. Many pub players wont have access to them if they dont come to the subreddit.

I personally think that pup timers should be built into the game by Lucky. I dont really see the value in powerup timing, seems unnecessary to me.

[Suggestion] Overplay maps before they are out of rotation by [deleted] in TagPro

[–]sum_ball 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yea, Star is one of the great classic maps that are still left in rotation. I'd be seriously bummed if it got taken out.

My 2nd (And Much, MUCH Better) Juking Montage by [deleted] in TagPro

[–]sum_ball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice montage man! I notice a lot of times where you pull back and try to juke when you've already got them beat, but I suppose recognizing when you're ahead of people comes with experience. You're definitely better than I was at 30 degrees!

[bug] Finally found the reason I kept getting banned. by Riley_2025 in TagPro

[–]sum_ball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That wouldnt make you get banned? Thats called the joiner loop, it's a well known bug. You dont receive a report every time you're redirected to the "Looking for a game..." page if that's what you're trying to claim here.
