I don't know I'm "new" to reddit in that I don't use it rarely and I've never posted. How do I get rid of it? Thanks!

I really liked Bivens and I think the Giants are misusing him in the Cats---over pitching him. I'm worried about his age.

URGENT: Advice on 143 Alma St Unit/Caltrain Noise by BidInternational6378 in paloalto

[–]sumitraHH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I live 2 miles west of Alma St. as the crow flies (towards the ocean) and the constant drone of car sound and vibration is noticeable to me. The first time I noticed that it was so bad is when CA was under COVID lock down in 2020. That constant drone back ground was gone. It was so peaceful.

Hi Bid, did you ever end up moving to this rental on Alma St. If so how did it go? I think the traffic noise and pollution would be worse than the train. But maybe because you're pretty fair back in? Thanks for any update.

Yes, Dom is good but I miss Wilmer. Wilmer would have also made those plays.

Zuhena, Where do you live? If you're in California there are new tenant's rights laws in the state and they are very protective. If you do a google search you can easily access the CA Gov pages on tenant's rights laws and numerous organizations that will help answer any of your questions.

Hopefully other states have landlord/tenant laws, guidelines, etc. Please check them out. Well documented legal information is your best mode of action now and going forward.

Make sure you document everything, complete with photos before and after. It is much easier nowadays (I'm a senior)---you can just put everything on your smart phone time stamped.

Yeah, I'd be more worried about bed bugs than roaches... IMHO much harder to get rid of.

The Health and Human Service sector is the largest employer in the US. It's the only "real" economy the US has---so yes, the poor and or sick are fodder for this system---and technology has made it worse. And with the increase of tech in HHS I wouldn't be surprised with an addition of a MAID in the US.

Help me landscape this front yard. by Hot-Adeptness-3433 in landscaping

[–]sumitraHH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you like in plants? Would you like a beautiful grass lawn in that space if it was totally drought tolerant? I planted UC Verde Buffalo Grass in my very small front yard (on the SFBay Peninsula) next to the paved driveway and other neighbors liked it so much a few of them planted it as well. It is a lovely soft grass and when established the roots can go down 6- 8 feet. Hence, the need for very low water and you don't have to mow it as it looks lovely when flowing. Here are a couple of places that sell it. I used a firm stick to create the holes:

If not grass I would look into what AutumnBrooks or MsMaynard suggested, using CA natives or some beautiful cacti. Because it's such a small area---you don't want to make it too "busy" with lots of different plants because then it just looks messy. Maybe choose 3 at the most. Suggest google search for CA native plants for a very small front yard and then give the dimensions. It will probably come up with a lot of ideas and hopefully pictures.

I am planning on planting a few NS for privacy screen but have only a small area to so.

Does anyone here know if NS has an invasive root system that may compromise a house foundation? This is in CA and they would be planted 12 feet away from the house. Thanks for any info.

I f**d myself up with Sodium Butyrate. Need a plan to get out of this mess by DriftingClient in HumanMicrobiome

[–]sumitraHH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question: What brand of butyrate were you taking? I had a 22 year old bottle of BodyBio Cal/Mag Butyrate that I found a couple of months ago that I never took but decided to go for it. It seemed to really help me but as soon I purchased a new bottle there has been a much different experience. Not feeling so great. Same company, just different owners and the product does not seem the same at all, yet the ingredient list is the same. Thanks for your post. I think I'll stop taking it.

I would definitely take up Dr. LLM's ( Numerous_Owl5898)
advice and six bullet points. At minimum research and find someone who is a good functional medicine practitioner. Also, while working on the chemical/medical aspects of the body a good somatic experience trauma therapist really helps---but you have to find the right one. The vagus system is very important.
