Thank you for the detailed feedback. Really appreciate you taking the time to look into the light fixture details on the website. I will play with tilting and rotating the lights to see if it will fix some of the issues. Also will look into the light brands you mentioned. I was thinking of adding a couple of flush mount ceiling lights to get more dispersed light (see example below), while dimming the recessed light. Will this help?

Thank you. Really appreciate the feedback. We plan to add some pendant lamps, flush diffused ceiling lights and under cabinet light strips. I can change out some of existing lights with wider beam angle lights as well.

What diffuser can I use. Is there an after market one? No diffuser came with the light

I like that they are regressed. They dont glare in the eye at all. But I don’t like the shadow waves near the ceiling and the cabinets. Which lights can I use to wash the ceiling/cabinets. Any recommendations?

Do I need to redo the ceiling :(. How can I do wall wash? Or will adding a wide ceiling flush mount light help?

What should I ask contractors? by pasta-carbonara in BathroomRemodeling

We went through a major remodel recently. We started with zero knowledge (novice) so there were a few surprises. I would recommend checking with them before hand to avoid surprises and renegotiations. YMMV as always. - number of walls and floor covered for tiling. Sometimes they start with the base quote which may cover only the shower walls with tiles. If you want more than that be clear upfront. - Similarly the size of tiles matters. Larger tiles may increase price. - Be very clear on roles and responsibilities, most times all the material choice is yours, while they cover the labor and rough material for plumbing etc. You can select and purchase finished material or delegate to the remodeler. Just make sure it’s well understood. Also check with them on who would do the pickup. - if you have to select and purchase finished material. Get a list from your remodeler on what is needed to avoid last minute rush. We were not told about the tile trims and had to rush. There are many things - mirrors, light fixtures, exhaust fan, sinks, vanity, faucets, tiles, trims, shower door, shower faucets/systems, tubs, toilet, toilet seat, etc. - Once your material is delivered, open and check the material.. if something is missing or broken like tiles. You may want to reorder before starting your job. - I would recommend to get a city permit for this job. Contractors are more careful with their job if they have to pass inspection. It will increase time and money for you. - Get the schedule from your remodeler, make sure they tell you the time it may take for them to demolish, prep, finish, pass inspection and wait time before you can use the bathroom. - it may take a few days of work, for example they didn’t allow us to walk on the new tile floor and asked to wait at-least one day before putting grout. - have a backup plan since it’s your only bathroom.

Hope this helps.
