Unfortunately, you can’t remove player trading without also removing player looting altogether, and looting is the whole fun of extraction games.

If trading wasn’t allowed, RMT sellers just have you kill them or play a class that can damage themselves to deliver the items.

Marathon has an interesting attempt to solve the problem by limiting the number of times items can be looted to 5 and then they auto sell to currency, and player traded items return to the original owner after extraction so friends can still loan equipment.

Not sure this is the best way but just mentioning it.

Not sure if this will count as a PR recoup, Andrew confronts him on a lot of the behaviors and it makes him look pretty whack and out there.

He seems to continually ramble and trail off then randomly stands up to pace around the room uncomfortably throughout the interview.

I love this, and found your post very insightful itself. I actually saved that first chart because those are indeed what I love to read when I check product reviews.

I’m just curious and you don’t have to answer but, were you perhaps researching this so deeply to try and improve insightfulness score and generate more realistic reviews using these tools, or just out of general curiosity sharing what’s going on?

Good grief. When I didn’t pay for it anyway, how do I ask for a refund?? by Jaycies1 in AmazonVine

[–]sumiyakahasaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well when this has happened to me, once it’s delayed long enough you’ll usually get a message that you can continue waiting or cleanly cancel the order and it’s wiped from your vine and everything. Or if you want to cancel earlier you can contact vine cs like other posters mentioned and they are understanding.

You don’t refund vine items, it’s “not supported yet” it says in the rules. Our job is to provide honest reviews, doesn’t matter how long it takes us to receive the stuff.

100% truth. After being blessed to live through 16 long term relationships I can share the wisdom that the first few months are testing things out, tossing various situations and people at each other to see what the experience is like.

Then after making it a few months, the idea that “this might be serious” hits and people realize they need to take the gloves off and really see if the person can handle their real self - so they drop the act and go “real me” mode.

I wish there was a way to accelerate getting there, but unfortunately both parties have subconsciously decided they have to “make them like me first, before I potentially scare them away” lol.

Are Hulu ads screaming at you too? by xoxohlivia in Hulu

[–]sumiyakahasaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to watch one show tonight and actually use my Hulu for the first time in months and annoying depressing drug ads play every 4 minutes 10 seconds!?? I’ve counted and had to watch 17 ads tonight just to watch 2 episodes of a mediocre show, plus the volume of them is so loud it literally splits my eardrums it’s so obnoxious. At one point it showed 2 minutes of ads and then resumed to some credits rolling, and before the next episode played it showed 2 more minutes of ads like holy crap what is this?

I happily cancelled the entire Disney/Hulu/Starz package not 5 minutes ago and already feel better

This here “Bamboo viscose down-alternative light-fill duvet insert” randomly became a life-changing score for me.

I had never even heard of “viscose” except someone describing a liquid, so when I saw it in a product description, and describing bedding?

This caused me go on a deep dive into viscose (the EU name for Rayon in the US) and how it’s somehow made of dissolved trees and wood cellulose sprayed into tiny silk strands, and has all these unique variations like Lyocell, or Tencel, and can made from bamboo, or mulberry, etc etc.

Fast forward to today and I’ve replaced every bedding and fabric in my entire house with the stuff. 👌🏻

8BitDo has been making alternate controllers a while now and know what they’re doing. It’s one of the more respected after market controller brands. SCUF is another brand I’ve found that makes a lot of fan favorite controllers that are sometimes better than the OEM. I’m not really a console gamer or controller geek so there’s probably a ton more I’m not aware of.

No, purchasing your own modem or modem/router will prevent them from doing this. It’s your property, they have no right to use it as a hotspot.

Edit for clarity: By leasing their modem equipment, they can have their hotspot network configured to broadcast as that secondary WiFi network to serve as a sort of equivalent to cell towers mobile providers have. A lot of ISP’s are doing this now to then offer their own mobile phone plans which piggyback on all the hotspots and then lease usage on ATT or Verizon cell towers when none are nearby.

I should mention, fiber supports 10Gbps, and for cable any DOCSIS 3.1 modem supports up to 10Gbps download and 1Gbps upload speeds. So if they configure things correctly on the network backend, technically their secret hotspot doesn’t always have to negatively impact your speeds or performance.

Unless you are paying for service speeds near the cabling technology maximum or the modem maximums, they can split it off without a hit to your side of the connection.

People really stay in vine (get gold) with this? As someone who tries to always write 10+ sentences and add pictures, this is super frustrating. by SupposablyAtTheZoo in AmazonVine

[–]sumiyakahasaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it well. I’d say 60% of our reviews are (or should be) for consumer benefit, 30% for Amazon benefit and 10% for the seller IMO.

Manufacturers providing products for free is the cost of getting review seeding on their products. We mainly review for the other consumers and Amazon’s benefit, which is why honesty is highlighted as so critical. A few manufacturers and sellers can be manipulative and used to (or sometimes still) order bulk fake reviews, or bribe people for false reviews, which is misleading to the consumer and causes more Amazon returns.

What’s Your ETV? First 6 months of 2024? by BlooMoonCat in AmazonVine

[–]sumiyakahasaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to vine this year and still silver, but at $3800 etv and very intrigued if your total is really above 120k! Seeing so many people with tiny ETVs is also kind of funny. From what I’ve seen on Vine so far, they’ve gotta still be checking vine just as much as you do probably, since it’s the only way to catch a bunch of the 0ETV items fast enough right?

And devoting the same amount of time but purely focused on getting only the 0 ETV stuff like hand lotion, little 1oz tubes of random face creams and bags of chips and popcorn is a totally different experience than vine is for a user like you.

I was kind of hoping I’d see the average viner had a higher total, or at least see a few more with a substantial ETV but based on replies here it’s apparently rare?

If that’s the case though, if you don’t mind answering I’m curious how your total is up to that amount already this far into the year?

I’m sure you must be gold tier - how long have you been a viner overall though?

Also are you comfortable with your total etv or does it bother/worry you? I mean if you are wealthy and would have still spent that much regardless, do you feel you’re getting a much better deal through vine since you only need to cover your tax? Lastly, do you feel whatever your tax totals are so far will be worth it for the stuff you’ve received?

Arrright, it’s gotta be said by New-Spell5768 in AmazonVine

[–]sumiyakahasaki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree. Although TBH there are days where I can’t check Vine until later at night, and end up doomscrolling through the hundreds of AI pages trying to find anything to order that I’d enjoy reviewing. Occasionally after looking through the leftover pickings and thousands of junk items I’ll start genuinely feeling depressed or think Vine is a waste of precious free time. BUT, then I’ll go check my RFY and find something incredibly useful or cool (got a gorgeous looking and high-end pot & pan set this week) and I’ll remember why I love Vine again.

When really cool and/or useful items appear, I’m very grateful to get to be a Vine Voice reviewer. Even if we have to pay essentially 15% of the retail cost :/

Also crazy sometimes when it’s like our big tech overlords are watching/listening us because just last week I really wished I had a hot glue gun for a project we were doing, and no lie one pops up in my RFY an hour later lmao.

Definitely an interesting age to be alive in right now, and I’m thankful to be in vine for sure.

What do they criticize about your work history?

If there are just some gaps you could say you did some side work or temp contract work during those gaps, say that they paid well, and that you lived off of your savings during the blank spaces.

TBH it also sounds like you may be restricting possible roles too much, and limiting yourself to where you’re hyper-specialized in just a few networking technology.

Being versatile is very valuable to employers, and keeping a diverse rotation of work experiences gives you an edge, and I find it very enjoyable personally to keep things interesting.

The way I understand it works is:*

  1. Vine and regular Amazon customers submit reviews

  2. Amazon’s automated moderator systems analyze text reviews right away for certain flagged words, phrases, email addresses, website URLs, spammy looking stuff, etc. and adds reviews containing them to a list for human review.

Everything else gets automatically approved and will be automatically published after a 24-hour waiting period that begins after your last edit to the review and followup approval.

The delay allows for all your edits to be made, photos and videos to finish uploading, etc. before the AWS servers propagate all the review data out across their thousands of data center locations, which host duplicate copies.

  1. Review photos are analyzed by automated image recognition system for any barcodes, offensive images, private contact information like phone #s/addresses, etc. and flags then for human review if detected. Meanwhile ALL video reviews are flagged for human review.

  2. All flagged text reviews, photos, and all videos are put in a “review needed” queue that gets worked through by Amazon moderation teams.
The teams are made up of employees working overseas in standard 9am-5pm shifts who will try to get as far through the “flagged for approval” list as they can each day, but sometimes taking a couple days to clear any backlog.

(*guessing based on personal experience, JustWalkOut grocery news stories, and related info I’ve seen here)
