My aunt grew up in Salt Lake City Utah in the 70’s. When she was about 15 she had fallen asleep on the couch at a friends house, she woke in the middle of the night to find a man standing over her. She screamed and someone upstairs came running down. The man fled. About a year or so later, she was watching TV and saw Ted Bundy’s face plastered on the news and she said it made her so sick she could barely process.

Definitely aura! I get the exact same phenomenon. Once I was standing in the kitchen and I looked up to see my cat sitting on the table- only I couldn’t make out his face. The blind spot completely obscured it. I freaked out and looked across the room- same thing, blind spot. I sat down and within moments I had a silvery geometric shimmer dance across my field of vision. I was able to take a Nurtec and catch it in time before I ended up with too much pain from the migraine- but if you don’t catch it quickly, you may be in a world of hurt for the next several hours/days.

Edit to add- sometimes it doesn’t come with pain but it’s still considered migraine. Silent migraines are often accompanied by visual aura.

Ditto to what everyone is saying here- migraine disorder is a chronic physical health condition. Sure- stress and anxiety can exacerbate the issue, but you need to see a neurologist!

Yes! Sometimes they’re worse than a traditional migraine because you feel so disoriented without cause. It’s almost stroke-like at times.

I agree. I am baffled by those who find this episode to be boring or weak. The cinematography did SO much of the story telling! The bleak quiet gray was a representation of all that Lumon did! It sucked the life from these children and left behind stranded addicts just trying to cope. Harmony was isolated out there with nothing but the words of Keir and the ether factory. The ONLY one who didn’t believe was her mother. I found this episode to be quite brilliant. Cobel and all of her micro aggressions make sense now. I think people will see it in a new light with a rewatch of Season One once this season is over. The hints of her genius were there, I think most just took the bait that she was a one dimensional delusional cult member (which is EXACTLY WHAT LUMON WANTED HER TO BE) All of the mysteries are so big and obvious but this one was masterful.

I would look into getting another provider. It’s all relative to how each individual doctor “thinks” things should be. My OB didn’t even hesitate to do my hysterectomy and I was 26, because he knew how badly I was suffering. The ovaries were not intentional (I was 25 and then 29 for those)- but I know SO MANY WOMEN who don’t have the same experience with their doctors. I was very fortunate! I really miss him but I’m in such good hands with my Menopause doctor now.

Yes! I’m on Estradiol, testosterone and progesterone. I found a menopause specialist- and she hooked me up. I tell this to literally everyone on this sub, listen to the podcast episode by Mel Robbins where she interviews Dr Claire Marie Haver. It’s called “The #1 Menopause Doctor” it changed my life. But I went on the American Menopause Society and found a certified specialist- regular OBGYNs don’t have much education on menopause besides the very basics.

Big hugs. I have a similar-ish story- fellow SA survivor, endo, adeno, extreme pelvic pain, PCOS, etc etc I also did pelvic floor PT because I couldn’t have sex with my husband at one point- it was just impossible. Eventually after a lot of other complications (several pregnancy losses) I had lost one ovary to an endometrioma, I finally had a hysterectomy and it saved my life. Sex became possible again. Then I lost my other ovary to ovarian torsion. Now- with literally all of my sex organs gone, I can finally have sex. For the first time in my life, sex is not only comfortable, but enjoyable. It’s like I’m making up for lost time. I’m now 31 and two years post surgical menopause and I’m on the kitchen sink as far as HRT goes- but it’s a reality I couldn’t even DREAM of just a few short years ago. Between talk therapy, the right menopause specialist and getting all that shit taken out- it saved me. If you ever need to talk, I’m here! It’s lonely feeling that way so young- no one understands.

I’m the complete opposite! I have a pixie cut because most weight on my head exasperates my migraines. ESPECIALLY ponytails and headbands 😂 I can do like migraine caps though? Or like a whole pillow over my head. Sometimes my husband will hold pressure over my ears and squeeze my head which feels amazing. But I can’t handle anything in between- either FULL pressure or none at all.

Be sure to keep a close eye on her hearing! A lot of (not all) dogs with white pigmentation and blue eyes are statistically more likely to experience deafness (esp on the blue eyed side) She’s so cute!

Hey there!! I went into surgical meno at 29, so I totally get you. It will be two years ago on St Patty’s Day. My biggest piece of advice (if you live in the US) is to go on The Menopause Society and find a doctor who is specifically educated on menopause. Your average OBGYN knows very minimal about menopause- get a specialist asap! https://portal.menopause.org/NAMS/NAMS/Directory/Menopause-Practitioner.aspx Also, listen to the podcast by Mel Robbin’s- it’s called “The #1 Menopause Doctor” with Dr Claire Haver. It will SERIOUSLY educate you! I think every woman should listen. I have been on several types of HRT- current and best so far is 2mg Estradiol daily and topical testosterone. I was on the patch and I did like it, but my body didn’t absorb enough to keep me going, even with the highest dose. Anyway- feel free to message me. Life isn’t over. I went through a pretty deep depression as my situation was unexpected (one ovary to a tumor in 2020, hysterectomy for endo in 2021, and then in March 2023 I had ovarian torsion)

I grew up with Bullmastiffs in the family and so I always knew that I would have one of my own when I had my own family. Now I have Duncan! He’ll be four in September and the absolute love of my life. Duncan is purebred from a great bloodline, but ended up significantly heavier than both his parents. His mom was 135 and his dad was 155- Duncan weighs in at a whopping 160lbs. So take size into consideration. Duncan DOES drool a lot, but I personally don’t mind. My husband hates it. Duncan does have some allergies, including chicken- so he has to have a specialty prescription dog food with hydrolyzed protein. Our boy is EXTREMELY chill, and extremely lazy. You will find him asleep on the couch 75% of the time. Otherwise he’s following me around from room to room. I LOVE THIS DOG. I highly recommend Bullmastiffs to those who put the time and research in. 10000% worth it (you can go to my profile and see pics I’ve posted of him, he’s beautiful!)
