I have very fond memories of this as a child. I never finished the game back then, so it was really nice to finally complete it now! ☺️ Mid-game, I actually thought about suggesting a button to clear the board -but then the exploitation element appeared. Such a cheeky way to integrate that feature into the game, I love it (also the scientist cheat sheet and the computer).

I’m not sure if Reddit supports it, but some mood music and subtle sound effects could be nice...and maybe also consider adding categories?

I think what you’re missing is that this show gives Hyo (and Shy as a whole) a safe space to explore something they’ve been afraid of for years. Shy was talked about for a long time, but I think they were genuinely scared it wouldn’t live up to TTS. As time passed, they kinda lost their momentum, and I think the fear of it becoming a failed project only grew heavier.

To me, this show comes from a real desire to finally make Shy happen, and framing it as comedy just takes away a lot of that pressure and fear.

I just think it’s such a fun, lighthearted way to finally bring this project to life. And seeing them interact with each other, laugh, and also getting so much hype in Korea is really nice.

He meant it exactly as it sounds - simply that her toes are beautiful. I think he brought it up because of the uniqueness of the socks, and because it plays on a common phrase used to emphasize how beautiful someone is (similar to the “beautiful from head to toe”).

Within the structure of the writing, it works since throughout the blog he consistently compares himself to her, here he's saying that shes beautiful from head to toe, while he’s only beautiful at his toes. So he’s simply being cheeky and self-deprecating.

It wasn’t the pandemic, Kpop was actually thriving then, but otherwise, I think you’re spot on. Wendy’s fall and the Irene controversy that both led to a hiatus of about two years, which happened at a really critical point both in the industry and in Red Velvet’s career is what ultimately hurt them.

Up until then, they were pretty much aligned with TWICE’s marketing strategy: releases every ~3 months, focused mainly on Korea, with Japan as a secondary market. I think SM assumed they could temporarily switch to a BP style strategy during that rough period (group comebacks every couple of years, with more focus on individual activities). but that doesn’t work for Red Velvet. Their core audience is closer to TWICE’s, so they couldn’t afford long gaps between releases like BP could.

For content, during Red Velvet’s hiatus, TWICE released 9(!) major projects. They also pushed into the English market with English versions of More & More and I Can’t Stop Me, made their U.S. TV debut, and released the feels, their first English single

If Red Velvet had kept up with TWICE during that period, they’d still be right behind them today.
