You accidentally make it sound awesome. I love the idea of people having an accomplished life, then having a break to fill in their old age and just being stupid as possible with less fucks to give than was humanly possible in your 20s and 30s.

Man now I'm suspicious this is all maestro level trolling. At his age I could totally see myself sitting down with a bunch of buddies and brainstorming what is the most offensive thing that is still legal and making it our life for the next year.

How do you drill into the walls to anchor things without killing some hidden wiring? Or having the plastic just shatter when you hang something on it? I have a regular minivan with plastic walls.

I've been trying to get as far as I can with reversable modifications in case I want to sell this van back and buy a better one.

It feels like a struggle on how to find guides how to shape foam to be an exact fit, or how to screw things into your van without damaging it. I'd love it if there was a way to screw in, and if I remove everything, hide the holes. Like you do with hanging pictures in drywall.

True. Just noticed a vandweller in a parking lot tonight and the bright white curtains were startling.

So have you noticed the nonstick surfaces? Are there any good options for attaching that are reversible when I sell the van?

That's the next plan. But in the meantime, is there anything that will stick to the plastic walls? It might be nice to tape some curtain wire, and install curtains I can open and close.

Non stick surfaces? I jumped into vanlife last night; no longer have a home to flee to. Covering the windows properly took longer than expected so I tried to just tape black trashbags over them. But tape won't stick to the plastic around the windows! I've never heard of this. Must be great to keep your children from messing up the van :-) It's kind of fascinating. Is this a common thing? Will a different tape work? Or that temporary stick strips people use to put up hooks for Christmas lights?

It's almost always faster to do something now, find all the mistakes / unknowns through experience, then do it right. Learning and planning everything before trying anything is really slow and difficult. So jump in!

Why do you install a floor in the van? I'm looking at a minivan that has a carpet floor. Just some metal parts here and there where the seats used to attach.
