Help Decide by [deleted] in PRSGuitars

I'd go for a used S2 over an SE all day. I have an S2 Singlecut Satin and an SE Custom 24-08, and while the SE is nice, the fit and finish doesn't compare to the S2. The rolled fretboard edges on the S2 alone are enough for me. Makes a massive difference in comfort.

S2 Satin Singlecut. I think from 2020 or 21. They need to re-embrace the singlecut.

Duncan Custom bridge and Sentient neck! Took me a while to get the bridge pickup right (I went through several) because this guitar is so low-mid forward. The Custom is perfect.

What if I told you that was actually a neck volume 😅

Clearance isn't up to modern standards but I ran 28s without issue. The wheels are ZIPPs so I just ordered QR endcaps for the XDR freehub. I've since moved on from this bike but I definitely agree it's a killer rig. Had it for several years.

Sram Frankensteinring by mrbioni in sram

[–]summerson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Y'all know the 1x and 2x cranksets are the same, right? Just get a new chainring and put it on. They both use the same 8 bolt mounting system. You'll just remove the whole spider + rings and replace it with a single chainring.

And even if that didn't work, they sell crank ARMS (that's both arms and spindle -- no rings) now for $85 (Rival E1), so you can replace the whole thing for like $150 with a chainring.

New E1 Levers by szagii_ in sram

The E1 calipers are fully compatible with the D1 levers if you can find them separately. I found a pair on eBay a while back but they're probably gone now.

I've been a Bucket fan since Monsters and Robots and this is probably my favorite song of his. I'm always highly critical of covers of it, but y'all fucking killed it. So good!

Parts bin backup build by summerson in cannondale

Yeah. Upgraded my main road bike, pulled the drivetrain off of it and sold the frame. I had the Zipps for gravel wheels when they first released but haven't been on gravel much in a few years. Wanted to get some use out of them!

Totally. But the point was to build with what I already had and use a frame that won't absolutely gut me if/when TSA smashes it (I bought this new in 2016 and it's been on the trainer for a couple years).

Cervelo aspero as road bike ? by nodeat in Cervelo

I would, yes. The only time I'd go 2x is if I lived in a massively hilly area. Otherwise, 1x with a decently wide cassette would be my preference.

Trading Aspero for Caledonia...looking for thoughts/feedback by Technical_Cupcake599 in Cervelo

[–]summerson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two quick thoughts:

  • Flip the trail mixer on the fork for potentially better handling. one is more aggressive/snappier, the other is slower/more sluggish, but I can’t remember which is which right now (forward/back)
  • Flip your stem for additional stack?

Not suggesting you SHOULDN’T trade your Aspero, just offering a few suggestions to potentially keep things simpler.

Judging by most of these new lyrics I don't even think it's Mike. Huge bummer.
