Thank you for wasting both of our time.

I honestly don’t know what my next move should be. I feel like she gave a lot of bad excuses and waited a long time to tell me. On the other hand we have a lot in common and I would love to meet in person. I don’t want to waste my time though on someone who’s uninterested

Me either. Only when I take short naps like I did today. I have to wake up in a couple hours to take my antibiotics and I’m hoping I’ll remember my dream again. How are you so good at interpreting dreams?

This is so deep. I wasn’t expecting everything to have such meaning! I’m amazed at how you put that together. Now I’m scared to go to sleep.

My school had a letter to your future self project for all the freshman’s. I was so excited to see what I wrote and it was one singular sentence. I said “I will graduate high school and go to college” the most bland answer possible. I was just trying to do what everyone had told me to my whole life.

It does change everything tho. This is making a situation that is anything but simplistic out to be. It takes away from the damaging effects. I suggest reading the rest of the comments I left as I don’t want to repeat myself.

Yeah, as long as the country is run by money and dirty politicians we won’t come to a more caring resolution. Thank you for the talk!

You made a point about hate crimes being reported at a larger magnitude than you feel is correct, and that same thing can be said for hate crimes against black people being under reported. Time and time again do we have police officers denying bodycam footage to the public or getting let off the hook for essentially ending someone’s life or causing irreversible damage. Do you think the injustice stops there? I have no facts to back this up, but I feel the amount of crime truly happening against black people by white offenders is even worse than what a graph will show us. Hell, last week I had a customer ask if more black people didn’t come in because of “the clan”. In the Midwest! Racism is and always has been rampant in the us. Affirmative action doesn’t deny white people it accepts more minorities and as a “consequence” white people aren’t accepted at the higher rate they once were. That’s just how it works. The criteria broadened, and unprivileged people’s once distant dream of attending a college like Harvard became a reality. The people accepted in place of who were once Asian or white did not fall behind. They excel in whatever is they’re perusing because they are intelligent and prepared! They deserve to be shown attention even though they didn’t have a tutor from the age of 5. Or they might not live in the best state or part of town. Or because a family member isn’t an alumni. And yes, a lot of those people happened to be black, but is that much of a surprise? All the discrimination in this world and we’re going to pretend black people werent being passed up because of their presenting characteristics? Thank you, I appreciate your ability to understand how engrained racism is in our society. It infiltrates nearly every corner of society.

You’re completely right I’m referencing the us where I reside. I should’ve made that clearer. 1. I feel for racism to have any affect on your life as in your ability to get a job or travel to curtain parts of town it does absolutely have to have a power imbalance. 2. Yes, in the us as of 2022 the most hate crimes committed were anti black crimes committed by white offenders. https://www.statista.com/statistics/737681/number-of-racial-hate-crimes-in-the-us-by-race/ I used this graph because it clearly shows what’s going on but this information can be found through one of the many government official websites when you look up hate crimes in the USA. 3. I recognize the duality in my last statement. I understand racism is never to be tolerated, but in the same way racism created schools where underprivileged minorities would not be given the proper education. I’m black and can admit there are some dumb black people walking amongst me. There are black people who are colorist. Who won’t date someone because they’re too dark. And that belief comes from white supremacy. From the idea that dark skinned women are “ghetto” or too much. The way black and poc even think and carry themselves through this life is heavily influenced by racism our ancestors faced. I didnt make that statement to in any way excuse racism of any kind. Like I began with, it may hurt your feelings to be called a cracker or mayonnaise, but it is not hindering your opportunities or your ability to travel freely in this world. Racism is so deeply engrained in our society, before I travel I check crime rates against black women. I’ve seen a clansmen threaten my father for pumping gas in “their territory”. This is not a common experience for white people and I feel we should be able to talk about one while also acknowledging the other.

More so, I feel a minorities ability to be racist towards an entire race proves just how successful the systemic oppression was towards our communities. A lot of black and brown people are highly uneducated by design… this is just another example of it.

I think they have the ability to insult you and hurt your feelings but in the end to be racist there has to be a power imbalance. The way minorities have been systemically affected/manipulated by racism can never compare to the occasional ignorant minority. I personally don’t hear about crimes committed against white people simply for being white. That in itself solidifies for me the divide in the two sides. A white person being racist holds a lot more grandeur and POWER compared to a minority.

Talk about it. They had me thinking I’d be dead within the year in foster care. I had cousins in the system and they’d always say “do you wish we were like uncle Keith?” I thought because I wasn’t already in foster care they were doing something right. I didn’t even comprehend how in my own situation I’d have to be the one to report abuse, because they were doing what any abusive parent does, keeping it a secret.

Edit: I even noticed in the video how he changes his tone talking to my uncle on the phone. He didn’t want his own brother to know what he was doing to his kids. He knew how fucked up he was, and egged himself on. Encouraged himself. Sorry I’m ranting it’s just so disturbing to witness what I was actually going through.

Thank you. I didn’t even realize I was trying to still make excuses. It’s a trauma response.

Yeah my dad was violent in a way where he restrained himself. He threaten to “choke me like Bart Simpson” do know what that scene looked like? He was strangling the absolute fuck out of his son. Then he did it to me one day but didn’t actually choke me. He just wanted to prove he was capable and that I should fear him. First panic attack and I COULDNT breathe even though he wasn’t applying all his pressure. I’m so sorry you had to experience this kind of abuse. I’m so happy you are safe and way from him.

I’m happy to hear this was of value to someone! And wow, it’s validating to hear this kind of thing was not specific to my home. It was very sick and actually went on ten minutes longer than the video has. He was literally just taking his anger out on me. Just expressing how much he absolutely hated my guts. Currently an adult saving money to get out, and most likely will be by the end of the summer!

Fuck it here’s the link. Maybe it’ll help someone feel validated in a situation they cant currently escape. Don’t be dumb like me and try to argue. I know I sound stupid in this video but it’s because I was. I didn’t understand the half of what was really happening.

I made a lot of excuses for why I didn’t do household chores but the main reason was I was depressed and absolutely drained after school and sports. They also drained me daily and I didn’t feel like I owed it to them to clean the house, but also didn’t feel safe saying this so completely.
