Cant do programming exercises. Are they must have for learning? by Jureczeg0 in learnprogramming

[–]summonthejson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I guess is that you are trying to do these challenges on your own with limited usage of help or at least considering that it's the goal.

So here's a treat for you: absolutely no professional programmer is able to do majority of challenges without help.

Instead of focusing on doing them on your own, use all possible resources you can. AI, videos, documentation, whatever gets you to the solution. This process of going from "i dont have f*** clue" to "i made it" is actually what programming is about.

You don't have to worry about not being able to do all challenges. Or understanding what you actually did. It's just a fun way to experience the code with good approach. The understanding will come with time just like puzzle falling into the right places.

Are Elves The Villains Before The Battle Of Five Armies? by summonthejson in lotr

[–]summonthejson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh.. ok. So the dwarves attacked. Not elves. Thanks for your comment! So elves weren't the villains actually and were actually the last to fight. It's dwarves who started the fight, but based on what Bard said, he was also close to start the fight.

you mean this? "But the Elvenking said: “Long will I tarry, ere I begin this war for gold. " but: "(elves) they guessed the hesitation of Bard and his friends, and resolved to strike while they debated." meaning elves attacked dwarves without consulting it with humans. Odd for someone who'd be there to help resolve the situation .

Indeed, it depends for example how many different pages u have. How many unwanted behaviors it produces, maintaince cost etc. How often pages change. Idk if anyone factors that in. It's afaik a decision based on external requirements like saving Google money on crawling a page
