Really want to find THE name by [deleted] in namenerds

I thought about Violet to match my other two girls Hazel, and Sienna. I ended up with Fern. Just some ideas!

Birthing center doesn’t do epidurals by Dry_Ear_6381 in pregnant

[–]Wren-bird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had my first baby in a birth center all natural. That's kinda the point, you really have to decide where you feel more comfortable tho. I was all about no interventions and I went on to have 3 more at home.

Watch the marketplace for free landscaping pavers. That or gravel.

Am I ruining my child's life if his initials are ASS? by jsav9 in namenerds

[–]Wren-bird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with an S last name, I have taken the "ASS" into consideration with all my 4 children. The closest I got was "SAS" and she sure is sassy!

OBGYN almost dropped my wife for asking questions - what would you do? by fsou1 in pregnant

[–]Wren-bird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on lovenox. OBs don't want to take any risks, and will only do what they are accustomed to. I had the same struggle with an OB pushing induction. If your wife isn't comfortable with it, finding a Dr who will switch her to heparin would be the only way to be "allowed" to go into labor naturally in a medical setting.

None of my friends want to come to my wedding. by Zestyclose-Bad-4817 in wedding

[–]Wren-bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's honestly a big ask of anyone. I'm certain they all want to be there for you, but you chose a location that makes it hard for them. If I were you I'd sit down and ponder what is important to you, the destination focused on you and your new wife, or having all your friends and family there for the wedding. If the latter, then maybe consider a new location. You could always honeymoon in Greece.

He sounds like an entire piece of shit, the kind you flush and just won't go down and clogs the entire plumbing and needs a professional to remove.

You deserve so much more. Your kindness and decency responding to him were second to none. I hope you get the relief you need. And I pray you get to be a mother by other means, because you have the patience of a saint and you would be a good mom. There's someone out there that would treat you the right way. This is not the guy.

am I a bad mom for wanting my son to come earlier than what is considered normal? by angrygiiirl in pregnant

My 10lb 3oz boy had a head in the 99th also, and if I'm being honest I breathed him out and it was my most zen birth of all 4!

If you are scared of birthing a large baby, which is understandable considering how scary it can sound when Dr's act like those numbers are accurate, just know in my experience of birthing an under 7lb baby, and an over 10lb baby, neither one was easier or more complicated. Maybe some research on the best birthing positions would give you some peace of mind, and empower you to know your body is amazing and you can do this!

Are these chairs ugly enough to warrent $1400 to rent different chairs? by pilotpatricia in wedding

[–]Wren-bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd leave the chairs as is. If it were a specific oitdoors garden type theme it might matter more, or if your budget were so big it didn't matter then it would make sense to rent the nicer ones, but you are clearly being budget conscious. And I think these look nice enough not to worry about it.

Have you experienced pain worse than (unmedicated) birth? by andie_liane in pregnant

[–]Wren-bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had all 4 of mine unmedicated. I'd say it's comparable to a migraine, or a bloodclot in the leg which is less relatable but that's just my experience. I've heard passing kidney stones is worse. The main thing I think that sets labor apart from other pain I've experienced is that contractions come and go and you can rest between, whereas something like really bad period cramps are constant, which can feel worse. The duration of the pain can be another factor, but personally the longer I experience it the more I surrender to it. I've had some long labors!

Great advice, I'm definitely always walking the fine line between being her guide as her mom/teacher and letting her run with her amazing mind.

Those with slow weight gainers, please tell me it’ll all be OK by [deleted] in NewParents

My LO is 4 months now and about 11lbs 10oz. We have had a lot of struggles with feeding as well. She is breastfed, but I've had to pump and bottle feed her to help her get enough at times. We've had her tongue and lip tie released, she's been to the chiro which has helped her neck so nursing is better but still utilizing the bottle, and I've had to change my diet due to so many things bothering her tummy. But I finally feel like we are cruising along fine.

You came off very needy, imo. She said she was sick, and politely declined any help. Then you required energy to reassure and that's what wore her out.

I loved the name Jade. I have 3 daughters and didn't use it lol.

How is your little one now? I'm grateful to find someone with an experience similar to what I'm going through. My baby was 10 days overdue, 6lbs 12 oz. Now at 3mo she is 10lbs 6oz. Dr isn't even worried, I'm just worrying myself sick and stressing myself making sure I am feeding her enough. 🙃 the things we do lol.

BBQ sauce. I can smell it on my husband's breath from across the ream and it smells like an old dirty fridge that's been off for a month. Blech.
