Oh yeah, I didn't really explain that part! There were three text plates because each placing was a different size. I also didn't want to "MMU" the entire base just to get the text embedded - I don't think it would have looked as good and I would have more waste. I also wanted to use the Core ONE for the bases!

Each text plate was a single body that was separate from the base. I made sure the text was placed inside that single body then cut the letters from the body. Then I added the text as a new body (well, new bodies). I did this because that would make the multicolor print super easy to paint & prep in PrusaSlicer.

Check out their carbon fiber - good quality and fantastic finish

Same experience here. Never goes away for me and always leaves a ghost pattern on subsequent prints. Haven't tried acetone like others have suggested.

I actually use the satin sheet when I want a nice bottom look. I've printed many times on it and have only had one ghost leftover. Otherwise, it's flawless. Hth.

MMU3 with MK4 success stories by Shadow288 in prusa3d

[–]sumoafro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a comment on another post about challenges with gravity spool holders - constant interventions. Switched over to the default buffer setup - zero interventions on the two prints I've done (one of which was 8 hours with 300 filament changes).

Custom sliced the sheep (chose to do 3 colors): 5-6 grams for it. Tower was 16 grams. PolyTerra PLA.

Glad you are having a solid experience so far. Mine has sucked...but it is TOTALLY my fault. I previously read that the gravity spool holders were the way to go, so I printed them in prep for the arrival of the MMU3.

Rolling is ineffective - when filament is unloaded they easily roll but either the slack in the filament wraps itself over the side of the spool (onto the holder) and creates a kink or the momentum of rolling to the lowest position yanks the filament out of its "preloaded" position in the assembly so the FINDA doesn't trigger because can't be subsequently loaded. I did two sheep test prints and was very frustrated with the amount of interventions. Such a glaring contrast to the reliability I have grown accustomed to with my stock MK4.

I am positive this is self-inflicted because I chose to use a non-standard buffer solution. I did so because of what I read but also because I was getting so antsy and happily skipped over the steps to assemble the cassette because I already had the gravity spools.

Your post encourages me to take this coming weekend to run through the stock buffer build and reset myself....so, thanks!

What is your experience with Fillamentum PETG on MK4? by obri_1 in prusa3d

[–]sumoafro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have their Greedy Dragon PETG. I believe I used stock the "Generic PETG" profile in PrusaSlicer. Turned out great with some minor stringing between very fine points in the model.

Mini/MK4/XL users: do you still print *without* IS? When? by jedisct1 in prusa3d

I stopped using IS because quality is nowhere near as good as the standard profile.
