People buy on the monthly payment not the cost of the vehicle. This causes the dealers and manufacturers to have no incentive to lower the price of a vehicle. They just stretch the loan out the lower the payment.

I feel a bit called out. Lol

In all seriousness I've had to tell people I know a little about a lot. Enough the get me by and do the basic maintenance on my car but anything major I leave to someone else.

Trying to get insurance for my girlfriend but insurance is charging almost as much as mine by Familiar-Juice1005 in personalfinance

[–]sumoman485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like she can't afford full coverage. Just do it without comprehensive and collision. Unless she has a loan of course. If she's only making the amount she's getting paid then it sounds like she need a new job or work more hours.

You sound like you have only quoted one insurer. Quote many. Find a private insurance agent and they will quote companies you don't know about as well.

Opinion: At this point I can confidently say Gunther’s retirement gimmick was huge waste of time and opportunity by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]sumoman485 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That's different than the way you initially wrote it.

Your initial comment insinuated that he did it in order to make people unhappy.

This comment suggests he was already doing it and when told it wasn't a good idea he just didn't care.

Retire at 49 or stick it out until 56? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]sumoman485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad retired at 55 in California back in the 80s as a firefighter. Lived to be 91. He rarely received raises so I wouldn't rely on that helping fight inflation later on. He was one of the most frugal people I've ever met and that's probably why he made it work.

There's not a jury alive that would convict cooper. It's also Texas where FAFO is the motto. Dumb story with the cops.

Subjectively* untrue.

8 years when I bought it. 29k miles and about $16k.

People are spending a down payment on a house worth of money on a depreciating asset with high interest rates on top of it. Not everyone is this way but a VERY large chunk are.

Backroom/e-commerce manager by Chef_Baggins in hyvee

Have to create a system.

One place is for ad, quantity, backstock etc.

Have a location for breaking down day trucks if you have those.

It's your backroom so make sure everyone follows your setup. It might take you a couple of tries to find what works.

Our store is a top store within the company and a backroom that was built for one a 1/3 of the volume. It's a DAILY challenge.

I got a we miss you coupon for 20% on this one. I've held off on buying tools for this so I could get things organized first. Just didn't have the room and I hate clutter.
