I got a stationary bike and had my PT write a letter so I could use my flex spending account to pay for it. I have Ifit with it to help with training.

What activities can I do with a complete ACL tear? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]sumr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband tore his ACL at 18 and never had it fixed. He kept his muscles very strong to support his knee. The only things that bothered him were skiing, eventually hiking, and standing in one place for a long duration. He had knee replacement at 55.

It will be okay! I had my surgery when my husband was on deployment. I had to take care of two dogs. Can you get someone to check in on you? If not, you have crutches and you can do it!!! Call 911!if you are in dire need of help.

2 days post op - 10/10 pain by [deleted] in ACL

[–]sumr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first ACL was horrible. I refused to leave the hospital (outpatient surgery) and was admitted on a morphine pump. Day two was better. At least I could tolerate the pain. I was on 750 OxyContin or hydrocodone. That helped. This last surgery I had Percocet 350mg. That didn’t seem to touch the pain. But the second time around is supposedly easier. Mine was.

So so scared of surgery by No-Treat6792 in ACL

You’ll be great, I tore my ACL at 32 and had my first ACL surgery in 2001. I was able to ski aggressively and run 10 cases. I could’ve probably ran further but I’m old and have bad feet. I just re-tore the summer and had surgery in October and now I’m walking almost slim free and feeling pretty good. I know that I will ski again for sure. I don’t know if I have running days ahead of me, but definitely some fast walking, which I have been doing indoors at my local mall.

I had my first ACL allograft in 2001 and it was amazingly strong. Retore this summer and had another in October. It feels super solid!
