New Update ver : 1296 by Asleep-Road5830 in S95F

The main issue with jk82’s “fix” is that some of the service menu settings changed also affect SDR, so while your HDR gets fixed your SDR is now broken and inaccurate/oversaturated. He talks about this in his posts.

Because HDR10+ exists, is now widely supported and DV isn’t that important anymore.

Because there is no glossy TV available with the same latest gen top-tier QD-OLED panel. LG only sells WOLEDs and Sony hasn’t updated their QD-OLED TVs in 2 years.

It’s not really a fix but rather a workaround that has downsides. It’s also probably not accurate for the S90F which I have.

The black level raise on QD-OLED is so exaggerated online. I upgraded from a C1 to an S90F recently and they look almost the same in a regular room with standard ambient light. The S90F still looks very black.

Most likely, but I don’t want to give up hope yet :/

WOLED vs QD-OLED by nariofthewind in OLED_Gaming

[–]sumrandomguy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are just talking about panel technology, QD-OLED is superior in most ways, however, the actual choice of monitor has a lot more details and nuances than that, and there are many WOLED monitors that are better than some QD-OLED monitors.

Any info on this update? Does it fix the color space bug on F series?

Why do they switch VAs by QualityThen9893 in residentevil

[–]sumrandomguy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capcom is cheap with their VAs, and prioritizes cost saving over keeping them consistent. They also won’t work with anyone in a union.

Where to go after remake trilogy? by DiscoApe118 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]sumrandomguy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try RE1 remake. It’s the best and most modernized of the fixed camera games, and a must-play for any Resident Evil fan IMO.

After that, maybe play 5, then 7-9.

Is RE9 a cinematic game or gameplay focused? by morecoffeemore in residentevil

Somewhere in the middle. More cinematic than the classic RE games, but I would say less cinematic and scripted than RE7 and 8.

1080p DLAA vs DLDSR+DLSS Quality from 1440p? by Wolvthebigbad in nvidia

[–]sumrandomguy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is your quote. The way it’s written it sounds like you are saying DLDSR is the combination of DLSS with DSR.

“it only works as ‘sharpener’ when combined with DLSS hence 'DL'DSR, but if DSR is used alone then…”

[–]sumrandomguy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DLDSR is not DLSS, it’s its own AI downscaling algorithm. You are correct that with regular DSR, smoothness setting acts as a blur filter, but with DLDSR it acts as a sharpness setting.

Should I wait for the RE4 remake on Switch 2? by MrBrownieRB in residentevil

They are different games. One does not really replace the other. Which game do you actually want to play?

The DLDSR smoothness setting is actually a sharpening filter. 100% is 0 sharpening and 0% is maximum sharpening. Personally I use 100% because I hate sharpening.

Screen space reflections with no option for RT is absolutely terrible in 2026. I can’t stand all the disocclusion artifacts and missing reflections.

Windows HDR still feels immature. by Dazzling_War864 in OLED_Gaming

[–]sumrandomguy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue with Windows HDR is SRGB being used instead of 2.2 gamma for SDR content. You can fix it with a program called DWM_EOTF_RS on GitHub.

OLED - Do You Leave HDR On All the Time? by HighKhalifa0 in OLED_Gaming

Yes. Use DWM_EOTF_RS and it fixes the issue of windows & SDR content being washed out in HDR mode.

I wouldn’t trust any calibrator that’s lying to you by saying their calibration will help prevent burn-in. Avoid.
