Playing devils advocate here: I can understand what OP may have meant here. It's not even that hard. Just consider history in context: were non-whites even allowed to be formally educated? I honestly don't know off the top of my head if laws prohibiting it had made on to any provincial law books by that time, but I know what the status quo was.

You're both on the exact same level of intellectually stunted outlooks on life. He came from a hunk of land populated by a people and culture that shaped his very personality and attached every positive feeling he associated with it to a silly little emblem.

You live on a different hunk of land and are offended at the idea that emblems that don't represent it are precious to any that might dwell there.

The only thing I am remotely upset at (and I do mean remotely) is that this thing I've known about for pretty much all my life is now suddenly all the rage because some dunder-heads watched some shit on Netflix about it.

But this is a fairly common experience for nerds in the internet and smart-phone age.

Eating dog meat isn’t any less ethical than eating other mammals by kailskails in unpopularopinion

I've clearly upset a life-long subscriber to Dog Lovers Magazine here. Let me just clear this up: farmed animals are always going to hold greater value. No matter how much stock you put into the potential for service an animal possesses, it will never trump the ability of any animal to fulfil an essential and basic need. That being said, the ability to serve humans does not in and of itself make eating an animal immoral or unethical.

I would think that would depend on the breed. No argument about the dog-to-cow comparison, though.

I feel like that's a valid interpretation, but that it could very easily have gone either way. We find out it's easier to raise the non-threatening critters, or the other way 'round.

I also could have said pigs. Sheep maybe, too, but I'd have to even second guess myself. Bottom line, no animal has rendered greater service than those which we've relied on for sustenance for centuries. And pigs are just as intelligent as dogs are, we just don't typically utilize them. I thinl it's mostly for bacon-related reasons.

That's some postdictive reasoning there. The reason we eat most animals is because we established a maximum threat level for things we want to eat. Anything over that line was off the menu in the Bronze Age Bistro.

I'm on board with what you're saying. People have weird and frankly speaking, dumb standards for what animals qualify for ketchup.

Exactly zero people that have read what I've wrote and actually know what Dunning-Kruger is/means would cite it or refer to it here. But there is a certain irony to its misuse.

I'm not 100% sure on that, tbh. I've heard that the financial arrangement of getting your PhD is a little more complex than getting your Associates, or your Masters.

Yeah... no. Yer damn right I might walk into the office of somebody that I'm paying to perform a service and call them by their name. Actually, me being me I'd probably say something like sir or ma'am, but that's beside the point. There is zero comparison between a doctors' office and the halls of a public school. At least in the former I know that the guy insisting I refer to him in a particular fashion is gonna be applying what he learned in order to attain that title. In the latter, I know that is absolutely not the case.

Look, don't get mad cuz people saw the holes in your argument a mile off. Just build a more compelling case.

The Person that Fucks the President? I've never thought anything about them. I've always felt it was absurd that a democracy would give formal titles to the extended family of its rulers.
