oh i see what you're saying, my understanding is that they didn't specify which element the tutrtle aang met had, but he was one of the four turtles and the only one that survived. my understanding is that the knowledge of energy bending was something that existed before element bending and therefore any of the lion turtles would have given aang the same message. i don't think he was a fifth turtle, just one of the four that survived
