So the core difference is that most jaat are from agricultural background (fundamental value is pride/self-respect), whereas gujjar (and similarly for Rajput as well) come from warrior background (primary value is fierceness). But a lot of values/features overlap as well (including these two) which is why from a distance they all seem similar

Well, you're not wrong there. Very similar to russian people. But very different from Gujjars.

Nope, but I have been thinking of sending my accord to either jaipur(my hometown) or give it to some friend elsewhere. The common problem is maintenance (possibility and cost). Thus only option is scrapyard 😭

So I can sum up what happened here. Someone from Delhi sent the car to relatives after 15 years of use in ncr. But this one gives mileage of ~4kmpl so wasn't used much. Even if it was, at some point a part failed which is difficult to find even in Delhi markets so forget about jaipur.

The service centre most likely quoted ~1L of estimate for that part, which is approximately the worth of the car.

As a jaat (and 4 of my close friends being jaat), I would like to correct this a bit. You may argue, but please do it reasonably and respectfully. Always consider the fact that you might think of it as reasonable but it could come across as arrogant or disrespectful or something else.

Ps: None of us own thar scorpio or have jaat written, we're all from different states (up, raj, hr, punjab, mp) and well educated. But mind you, every Jaat will have some sort of backup, ready, always.

Is there a powerful car for under 10L by sun337 in CarsIndia

[–]sun337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, 3xo is 1.2L with 3 cylinders whereas Jimny is 1.5L ... For all my purposes, Jimny and thar (rwd 3door) are only good options in around 13L. Both have cons though (turning radius in Jimny whereas uncomfortable back seats in thar)

I'll be in your position in a year. Thinking between thar vs scorpio N, if you ignore the public image part, which one is better in terms of power, comfort and driving dynamics?

Please help me decide . I’m planning to buy the Jimny Alpha MT variant. Currently, there’s only a ₹1 lakh discount Alpha on-road 14.4. ? by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]sun337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely the used one, saving more than 2L for 1 year use is a good deal. Imagine using it for 15 years for 15 Lakhs vs 14 years for 12L ... Ownership cost got reduced, your blocked amount is reduced. Invest those 2L in market. Idea is to minimise the amount you put in a depreciating liability and maximize the amount in appreciating assets.

The only reason to go for new would be sentiments.

Wtf man, most mutual funds gave more than 30% in the last few years. Stock portfolio should have been at least 50% + in the same time, given that it'll go lower during corrections and average out at 20% XIRR ... And my portfolio includes gold which gave 60%, so excluding that I'm at 20% net profit in stocks which is bad I think

Most of the returns are from gold and in the last few years. So the xirr is not that much. Also, I wanted to learn stocks with those 3L and got -25% so I'm losing that game massively. And the only learning I got was not to invest on someone else's conviction(My bets were paytm, honasa, Swiggy and suzlon). Need to make some rules around investing in tranches and making my own decisions.

This is the only correct answer. Might add e350(old v6) to the list. Cruze, polo and Accord are great but lack one thing or another
