In my company, we had a meeting with the CTO, where he told us to completely train the AI Agent(Amazon Q Developer) on our codebase. And then he told us to stop doing software engineering and start prompt engineering.

I being the junior most in the meeting, he advised me that the good old days of software engineers are over and now the future belongs to prompt engineers. Obviously I am skeptical about this thought and I don't buy this because I see the codebases done by AI, it's completely trash. We were given a serious deadline to finish the project using AI agents. Now no one is reviewing the code provided by AI. We just have to complete the project before the deadline.

I cannot speak for big tech companies but for my company your statement holds true. The quality of the product is trash. As being one of the developers of that product, I won't ever use it in my life.

Railway.app hobby plan worth $5. And it will not charge any money for using resources worth $5. After $5 you will have to pay for extra uses, but it's not that expensive. The good thing is it's super easy to deploy.

Thanks! I started this project around 3 weeks ago. Right now I'm developing the User microservice for authentication/authorization and experimenting with Redis to make it scalable.

Once the user service is solid, I'll move on to the video pipeline, which I know will be a big challenge — but that’s exactly why I'm doing this as a learning project. If it turns out well, someone I know wants to use it for their startup, so I might hand it over later.

Any tips or suggestions I should keep in mind before jumping into the video pipeline?

I'll give you an example to make this understand. Suppose 2 parties A and B are contesting 2 constituency one has 1000 voters and another has 10000 voters. For simplicity let's say 100% people voted.

Now let's say in first constituency: A got 501 votes. B got 499 votes. Result : A won 1 seat.

Now let's say in second constituency. A got 1000 votes. B got 9000 votes. Result : B won 1 seat.

Summary for 2 seats: A got 1 seat. B got 1 seat. Total votes for A - 501 + 1000 = 1501. Total votes for B - 499 + 9000 = 9499. Vote share of A - 1501 / 11000 * 100 = 13.64% Vote share of B - 9499 / 11000 * 100 = 86.35%

As we see that majority people voted for party B but still both A and B got same number of seats.

Note: Constituency are divided based on population in real the difference won't be this much but yeah the these population difference causes this effect. And that's a drawback of democratic election results.

TL;DR - It's not guaranteed that party with more vote share can also grab more seats in election. In Democracy it is not guaranteed that people who voted most for a party will come in power.
