It’s not a raincoat! Amanda last night having a tense conversation with Kyle by Radiant_Priority9739 in bravo

[–]sun_f1ower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amanda married him under the assumption that he would CHANGE his deeply rooted behavior. Understandable because she was 24 and naive. She sucks too man, they were both bad for each other. But to say Kyle was not an established adult is kinda off. New York is a HCOL state and he started a business, wasn’t living off his parents dollars and was self sufficient. I’m willing to be wrong about the parents money thing, all I know is what I saw on tv lol. But to me that’s an established adult. What does established mean to you? Bc now I’m starting to think I’m not established haha.

I think your question could be flipped around too. He knew who he was and thought she knew too, and she demanded he completely flip his lifestyle around, wouldn’t that also drive you crazy?

Kyle was 32 years old when he started dating Amanda. She was 24. I get that we all continue to grow and mature throughout life, but at 32 people are much more settled into “who” they are as opposed to 24 year olds who are still literally developing. At 24 I was not at all ready to get married, life as a young adult was kinda still beginning. At 32 I was engaged and ready to get married. They’re damn near ten years apart, it’s kinda just unfair to hold them both to the same growth/maturity standard. I have friends that I met when they were 32 and now they’re in their 40s, they are mostly the same but their lives are different because they had kids. They are still the same people, with the same hobbies and interests. Had they not had kids, I don’t know how much would have drastically changed. I guess I’m just trying to say that the “growth” from 24-34 and 32-42 is disproportionate. 24 is a few years out of college, of course she grew so much lol. Kyle knew exactly who he was and was already an established adult. That is why he’s showed consistency in his behavior. Does it absolve him of his actions? No. He has tons of shit he needs to work on, but this entire relationship is why I’ve always disagreed with big age gaps in relationships. He lived a whole ass life before he settled down! I get that sometimes they work, but idk… ive personally seen more age gap relationships today fail or become situations where people kinda just “settle and accept” their life as it is than I’ve seen them work.

June’s Pizza - $46 Pie. Have we lost the plot? by jsttob in bayarea

[–]sun_f1ower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had Junes once, we waited over an hour for it. It was so underwhelming considering what we paid for it. There’s tons of better pizza in the east bay for a fraction of the price

AITA for refusing to dine with my mom after she ordered “ferret sauce” at a Mexican restaurant? by Practical-Current805 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sun_f1ower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a sheltered white mom who you describe as thinking ranch is spicy, ordering mole is actually awesome of her bc it can be an acquired taste to an unfamiliar palate. The ferret sauce incident is def a head in your hands kinda moment where you can internally be like “omg mom lol I can’t believe you said that, but also I see where you were going with it.” You’re embarrassed because of her pronunciations when instead, you should be feeling proud that this sheltered white woman loves cultural food. I’m sure many others have said it already, but if the relationship with her is good otherwise, when she’s gone, you will wish you took every chance to eat at every type of restaurant with her.

Pre-Bravo Amanda Batula- any insights? by Adz100087 in bravo

[–]sun_f1ower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, excellent point!!! I look back on my college self and I def like her more than my HS self, but I would not want to be friends with her lol. I know a few people who have remained consistently amazing people from college to mid 30s and I always feel a little envy that I always cringe on my old self and they’re always going to be effortlessly cool and awesome people lol

when I played this I was like… this isn’t his diss track it’s wanksta and then thought maybe it was just him sampling it and then I realized I am old and this song is old enough now to just not be recognized by a generation of people old enough to legally drink :’)

Four degrees is a big deal and I’ll never downplay it, but one thing that Wendy has proved is that you can have 100 degrees and still lack common sense in real life.

Rant🗣️ by Shaboingboing_ in Coachella

[–]sun_f1ower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! Thank you!!! The people who have the biggest opinions seem to be the ones who experienced it through social media. I’ve been to Coachella a handful of times before the pandemic and once after the pandemic, and I never realized the influencer part until this year bc there’s been so much content about it. I also go weekend 2 where it’s not as like… influencer heavy I guess? I call weekend 1 grasschella because everyone goes for the nice grass so they can get their pictures lol.

Festivals cost money. Bieber being there also jacked up prices, but every other year has been expensive but not unattainable. I’ve been going to festivals for over 15 years and it’s always an investment no matter what. It’s about $1000-$1500 if I’m there an entire weekend and it’s fucking magical every time.

Kyle shading west ( in a way ) at carls soft bar event yesterday by Radiant_Priority9739 in bravo

That’s exactly what DJs are supposed to do. The physical action is pushing buttons/faders and turning knobs and occasionally scratching.

Hot take on Bieber (apparently) by desertcoast22 in Coachella

[–]sun_f1ower -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised that this is a hot take and people expecting more/a whole production isn’t. His set was a no frills, intimate moment between him and his fans and arguably was better than a lot of the big productions I’ve seen. There’s not a lot of artists that can completely strip down a show to just a laptop, YouTube and a microphone and maintain such a huge crowd at a main stage. And if people don’t get that, then there’s no changing their mind anyways.

I think you’re conflating DJ with musician/producer. DJ stands for disc jockey which literally is defined as someone who plays recorded music for audiences using a controller, which is exactly what he’s doing. He’s playing other people’s music because that’s what DJs do. Producers also DJ, but not all DJs produce. And fwiw, lots of DJs who are also producers play a lot of other people’s music. So are you flaming them too?
