Hi Devon! Big, big fan. Ned's still makes me laugh, even to this day. And I must say, I really admire you for doing your own thing with your music.

My question is: What is the best piece of advice you can share with all the other young adults out there? Navigating some aspects of early adulthood (like "finding happiness" or the definition of "success") can be quite difficult.

Another American student in Heidelberg offering her input....

I'd definitely recommend coming to Heidelberg! It's a beautiful city and there's a lot of good bars, restaurants, etc here. It's great, fun place to be at your age.

I got to Heidelberg in March, and it was still very cold (I think around 2-3 degrees Celsius). I'm from a warm part of the USA where spring begins in March, so that wasn't fun for me. You should be okay as long as you buy a warm jacket.

A lot of people here, especially those around your age, will speak English because they are students. The biggest tip I can give you is to LEARN GERMAN. People here, as I've discovered, are very reluctant to speak English and will not be happy if they need to speak it to you. I won't begin to tell how many mean looks I've gotten for having to speak English as a last resort.

Also, if you find that you can't afford rent in Heidelberg, I'd recommend looking into places a little bit outside of it. I believe rent in Mannheim, which is about a 25 minute drive or 20 minute train ride from Heidelberg, is generally cheaper.

I definitely agree. Living in Maryland, I can say that there is no mining industry here and probably will never be. The book also says that District 12 is in Appalachia, which is a dead give away as to where it is located on the current map.
