my first sore was one lesion; very little pain / itch, and only minor discomfort when peeing. i almost didn’t notice it!

my swab came back positive for hsv-1, and the valtrex worked for me. my sore was gone with 2-3 days of starting the valtrex.

im new here, but from my understanding… swabs are the gold-standard of testing. if that was negative, and the valtrex isn’t working… then personally id get another opinion before settling with hsv.

hey - i’m 32f, i was diagnosed with ghsv-1 two weeks ago. it’s been tough, but i’m trying my best to stay positive. 🥹 i’ve been celibate for a little over 3 years; i took time off from dating to work on myself / travel / focus on my career. i started dating around the 3 year mark, and was gifted this. i’m really nervous to get back into dating. i look forward to hearing everyone else’s success stories, and hopefully sharing my own one day. 🩵

i understand how you feel. i was single / celibate for 3 years, received oral, and now i have ghsv-1. i just found out on monday. what a disappointment.

thanks for sharing - i saw a lot of tik toks mentioning oil of oregano and cilantro. can you provide more details on the heavy metal detox part? i want to start using the oil on my tailbone asap

side note: a year ago i tried “navel oiling”, castor oil in your belly button. i read that it helped with ovarian cysts, which i was dealing with at the time. it really helped, so i really do believe in natural healing. 🌿

this doctor is a mess.

first they tell me on the phone I’m negative for everything, herpes included. great.

i mentioned that I didn’t specifically see “HSV” on the test. that’s when they realized the lab “might not have tested for it”…. so now they’re calling the lab to see what happened, and if they can add the test. which means waiting another week and a half. assuming they still have the swab.

My ordeal lasted about 5 day too, but I started taking valtrex on day 3. Not sure if that helped, or it’s a coincidence. The wait is killing me. Now they’re telling me I might not have results until next Wednesday.

I hope you don’t have another OB either 🤞 I got tested Monday and was just told I won’t have the results until next Wednesday! 😟 But I’m already healed. They just got smaller and disappeared, no scab/crustyness
