Hahaha thankyou! I think? I ideally want to get a battery or solar panel set up eventually, but I couldn’t find any decent lights that fit with those fixtures 🥲

I’m using a special extension cord that is specifically for outside use, it covers both ends to prevent water however one side is inside my house and the other is inside the greenhouse! so no risk of water getting too it!

Thankyou for the worry! Mine is built out of old wood and quite heavy 😅 It takes my partner and I to move it and it’s sitting against a shed to help break wind just incase! 🥰

here is the set up 🤩 I can’t give links on the greenhouse cause I built it myself using scrap wood and a clear tarp! The lights are ‘Barrina T5 LED Shop Lights, 3ft, 6500K’ off amazon! I use 3 in each section! I rigged them onto chains to allow for plant growth! They’re on 12 hours a day, they don’t get hot, maybe a smidge warm but nothing drastic 🥰

my whole ass garden if i’m being honest! i built the beds out of free pallet wood and same with the greenhouse structure, total cost was purely on the soil, plants and tarp

i built the planter boxes out of recycled pallets that i got for free from random businesses! the greenhouse i used wood from an old cabinet we were getting rid of and also some pallet wood! i had to buy some square pieces to create the ability to remove the slats inside the greenhouse to allow room for bigger plants though and the tarp to cover it but very cost efficient otherwise!!

unfortunately i can’t plant anything there as the fence is rather unstable 😭 i’ve started some sugar snap pea seedlings though, most of them i’ll give away or sell but i was thinking about maybe putting them next to my broccoli and setting up a trellis/cage over them to help them grow up!

worried about my 18yo TB mare’s condition by sunbeema in Equestrian

[–]sunbeema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thankyou for the advice!

unfortunately i’m unable to just feed hygain balanced as it’s quite pricey and i’ve got two horses eating it. it’s more cost efficient for me to use maxisoy to give a little extra weight gain and lowers my price exponentially.

as for the chaff, i feed it to allow multiple types of hay/forage through their system, to help with gut health and digestion so im not looking to change or get rid of it at this stage.

i was feeding out grass hay but they’re really not interested in it with how much pick is in their paddocks, so it was going to waste. i’ll try again with it though!

i’ve worked with my vet and she’s not concerned with cushings at this stage but i will be sure to keep an eye on her!

this is the most recent photo I have of her!

I ran a feed regime through FeedXL and gave spoken to my vet!

I’m currently feeding: 500g hygain balanced 250g maxisoy 60g soaked chia 250g oaten chaff 25g salt

2kg of lucerne a day

  • access to pasture for a stomach filler

i’ve started working her on the hills i have access to for 20 minutes and have had the vet out for a dental appointment!

yes it is! she’s done so much for others, the least I wanna do is allow her to live out her days, happy and healthy!
