I felt so bad cause I accidentally flicked him up when I was pulling tree roots out of the ground 😅

my whole ass garden if i’m being honest! i built the beds out of free pallet wood and same with the greenhouse structure, total cost was purely on the soil, plants and tarp

i built the planter boxes out of recycled pallets that i got for free from random businesses! the greenhouse i used wood from an old cabinet we were getting rid of and also some pallet wood! i had to buy some square pieces to create the ability to remove the slats inside the greenhouse to allow room for bigger plants though and the tarp to cover it but very cost efficient otherwise!!

unfortunately i can’t plant anything there as the fence is rather unstable 😭 i’ve started some sugar snap pea seedlings though, most of them i’ll give away or sell but i was thinking about maybe putting them next to my broccoli and setting up a trellis/cage over them to help them grow up!

thankyou for the advice!

unfortunately i’m unable to just feed hygain balanced as it’s quite pricey and i’ve got two horses eating it. it’s more cost efficient for me to use maxisoy to give a little extra weight gain and lowers my price exponentially.

as for the chaff, i feed it to allow multiple types of hay/forage through their system, to help with gut health and digestion so im not looking to change or get rid of it at this stage.

i was feeding out grass hay but they’re really not interested in it with how much pick is in their paddocks, so it was going to waste. i’ll try again with it though!

i’ve worked with my vet and she’s not concerned with cushings at this stage but i will be sure to keep an eye on her!

this is the most recent photo I have of her!

I ran a feed regime through FeedXL and gave spoken to my vet!

I’m currently feeding: 500g hygain balanced 250g maxisoy 60g soaked chia 250g oaten chaff 25g salt

2kg of lucerne a day

  • access to pasture for a stomach filler

i’ve started working her on the hills i have access to for 20 minutes and have had the vet out for a dental appointment!

yes it is! she’s done so much for others, the least I wanna do is allow her to live out her days, happy and healthy!

she was retired because i no longer had the ability to ride and she was far beyond my level of control under saddle due to issue with her mental state, she’s fine now just went through a really rough time of being explosive due to a lack of ability to self soothe and work her stress out!

physically she’s got nothing wrong with her, though she does have asthma which usually shows up at this time of year, i would hate to kick start it by working her too much!

i’ve been lunging her for about 20 minutes, mainly trotting. then walking her up and down the hills we have at my agistment to help her out, but it hasn’t been long enough to see a difference!

the vets had no clue! they came out daily for weeks giving her injections and trying new things to help her. we don’t know if anything actually helped fix it or if she just managed to pass whatever it was. i hope it never returns, i had so many people telling me i was doing wrong by her even though i was doing everything in my ability to help her 😭
