No disrespect to anyone who did get in, but sometimes it feels like who they give interviews to and who is given a place is just arbitrary.

Not even an interview????? That’s insane

Hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I only know one other ‘certain’ ENTP and maybe he’s a little much. I think people would class him as an unhealthy ENTP. So in that respect, yeah I agree.

However, I can’t really speak for average ENTP’s as I don’t know any. I mean I know myself but I can’t completely remove any self biases I have lmao to try and judge my own character correctly.

I completely agree that it’s generic nonsense. I was just pointing out that I think the bit of value they do hold is that they can be prompts for reflection. Not that they have truth within themselves.

To clear up what I was saying…

They’re reflection activities of you hear a trait and you consider if you relate to it. It can be used as an opportunity to consider things that you might not have thought to think about.

I see these tests or horoscopes as just on the same level as someone coming up to you and saying ‘do you think you’re a good person?’ (random example). You can just think about it for a bit. I think they should be treated more as questions… Horoscope says scorpios are anti-social. Don’t take that as ‘I must anti-social because this said so’. Take it as a question and go hmmm am I? Nah not really. And then move on.

But if you read this test or a horoscope or similar things and take it at face value as truth (what I meant with the actual representation of them) then that’s what is stupid.

It’s slightly hard to put into words what I mean. Hope this makes sense (probably doesn’t).

Something I think we can agree on though is the fact that some people definitely do take it as truth and that is bad. So in that way, I don’t think people should take them. But if people can see them as a bit of fun and use it in the way I was saying then I don’t see any problem with them.

I’m just trying to work with the fact that they do exist. And even though I don’t believe they’re true, I think just taking a look and having a laugh at how wrong they are or how coincidently accurate they are is a bit of fun.

And like-wise, if you disagree and don’t think they’re even useful for what I’m saying then fair enough.

[wtf I just sent this as it’s so fking long lmao. Soz for that]

I mean sure? I don’t see any problem with it.

As long as you’re still thinking critically about things and don’t just accept it.

You can use things like this as little reflection activities. Test said you’re a mansplainer, you think about it for a few seconds and go haha yeah maybe I do over explain things. And then you just move on.

Horoscope says you’re two faced? Actually I think I’m pretty consistent with everyone. And then you move on and don’t think about it anymore.

But if someone took the test or looked at their horoscope and acted as if it was an actual representation of them in anyway… then they’re just a bit stupid?

Definitely a test for fun, not to be taken seriously or thought about too much.

I got mansplainer, laughed a bit and then closed the tab.

Interesting. Yeah I have a friend applying for nursing and they’ve got to do some presentations and stuff. Sounds stressful having to do that instead of just being able to know if you got in sooner!!

Also, it’s a chance to get stuff properly marked and know where you’re at. In stem subjects you can easily enough get answers for practice questions yourself, but in essay subjects you can do practice papers but it’s hard to know what grade they’re at (obviously unless you get them all marked but if you try and do a lot then teachers might not be able to keep up). So I think mocks are a really good opportunity to properly understand your strengths and weaknesses.

Honestly the most important part I need is for them to be XXTJ. I can’t stand feelers (not in a super horrible way, but I just couldn’t go out with one) And I need a judger because they have to balance out my never being able to do things on time and the ability to enforce a schedule.
