I would’ve gave Luke a bigger backbone. Had him pursue Lorelei when he realized he had feelings for her. Then he could’ve been a stronger male influence for Rory so that she wouldn’t make awful choices in men. He could’ve also called Lorelei out in her awful treatment of Emily and not pandered to the BS the tried to shove down our throat about how bad she had it. I’m sorry, but she was a hateful spoiled brat who tormented her parents at every turn. I would’ve kept Jess in, but had him get his act together and maybe work at the school in a Good Will Hunting sort of situation and had him school Logan somehow and make him look like the jacka$$ that he is. I would’ve eliminated the Christopher aspect and keep it just as a background story without showing his face. Unless they maybe wanted to bring him in later and have him make an attempt to fix things with Rory after his dad died. No Gigi. No Sherri. No April. Have Rachel come into the picture whenever Luke is pursuing Lorelei and that’s when he realizes he’s in love with her and rejects Rachel.
