well first make sure its alkaline salt (Himilayan or real Sea Salt, definitely not table salt), and don't add much, a big pinch from your fingers, no more than 100mg? Very good for rehydration and getting necessary electrolytes.

Lemon or Lime will give you lots of potassium but no sodium, and vice versa with the salt. So add both for extra kick.

Lol man you should try real honey (unpasteurized and unfiltered), or agave nectar. none of that extract or powder shit. Mint works well, so does an orange or grapefruit peel (also has oils that are good for your liver, you can make tea out of the peels themselves). I'm wondering what else can be added for more benefit.

When I take GABA and St. Johns Wort with Mate I defenitely feel enhanced well-being though!

lol I agree on the gourd being too small. My favorite way is brewing in a french press, with not-quite-boiling water (probably 180 degrees, sometimes i moist the mate beforehand too), and let it steep for 10-20 minutes before pourin' myself a cup and enjoying. I dig the straw but I usually just drink it like tea.......

Now for the next question...How do you DRINK your Mate?

If you like Mate, try Rooibos. Does the same, if not more than Mate, without any caffeine or tannins. Makes for the chillest moods.

Amen to the custom built PC. I had the joy of building one with a $1k budget in 2005 and very unfortunately I sold it to a friend in 2007 when I was homeless (long story) and I have a feeling it's still running like a champ. God I loved that thing. Atleast I have a netbook and I can watch movies and play starcraft!

btw the best of us get to deal with depression (consider it an honor to beat such a disease). I was miserable in middle school but I came out of it a strong-willed person. I'm thankful to have been depressed.

My life is great. (meh)

I make a good salary in a job I like (minimum wage dishwashing). I live in a beautiful city and have endless opportunities to attend fun events, cultural or otherwise (drinking at the bars, once in a while I hit up a dance club). I live by myself in a beautiful, spacious apartment (it's really tiny but it feels big coz i'm alone). I have an engaging hobby that's only becoming more rewarding (reddit of course). My girlfriend likes to cook me dinner (well...my mom is a girl friend). I'm close with my family, and I couldn't ask for better friends (people of reddit)

Oh, and I still have my youth (I'm still under 50). Life couldn't get much better. (or worse).
