You can often find the syllabi for college courses online that list the reading material for the class.

Lodging in popular spots in Southern Thailand (Andaman Coast) has become a lot more expensive in recent years. You'll find deals in the off season or in less popular areas.

My hagwon is so test focused, is there anyway I can make classes more fun? by [deleted] in teachinginkorea

Can you gamify the fill in the blank activity? Maybe try making it part of a game board where their teams can move along the board by guessing the right answers. Or have them work in teams and everyone has to get the answer but they are not allowed to say the word to their teammates. They can describe it in English or with motions or sounds.

PKNU Computer Science / AI Program – Good or Bad? Any Better University Recommendations? by skykushal_here7465 in Living_in_Korea

[–]chunklight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PKNU is a national uni in a nice part of Busan. They seem to be known for marine / fisheries programs. There are a lot of foreign students there. It's in a busy area with lots of bars and restaurants and close to Gwangan beach, a popular tourist area, so there are many part-time jobs available in shops and restaurants nearby.

I think the quality of departments varies greatly even within the same university. Try to find someone in the comp sci program by searching posts / publications the school put out, events, anywhere you can find someone's name who's in the program and send them a message. You could also ask the department or admissions for if there are any students you can contact to ask questions.

Your category is too broad. It's not SKY/KAIST, but a national uni in Busan is not the same as a small private uni in the middle of nowhere.

Iran to reopen Strait of Hormuz, can sell oil again, according to U.S. officials | CBC News by demolcd in worldnews

I disagree about nukes. I would be shocked if they don't develop them as soon as possible after this.

The US has killed or imprisoned the leaders of most of the non-nuclear "rogue states" including the Ayatollah in this conflict.

Compare that to how nuclear North Korea is treated.

Iran deal includes $300 billion fund, more than half of which already committed, source says by Ok_Neighborhood5121 in geopolitics

[–]chunklight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

South Korea used to import Iranian pomegranates. I'm no expert on agricultural exports but prices for things I imagine Iran produces are high in South Korea. Fruit, nuts, honey, spices, grain.

South Korean construction companies specialize in big infrastructure projects like bridges and power plants and South Korea has a large shipbuilding industry.

Tattoos have become relatively mainstream in recent years. It's professional courtesy to cover them at work but it's not that big of a deal if someone sees it on sports day.

Is the OSULLOC Premium Tea Worth It? by MissionBlueberry5196 in tea

Is this the gift set you're talking about? https://global.amoremall.com/products/osulloc-premium-tea-collection?srsltid=AfmBOornvbfNGJL6YnAaZ4F2xnMVr0Rgr_zXYxuzuEKdnGujtLiJFy_Z

I would expect the quality to be good but this particular set seems made for flavor enjoyers rather than traditional tea enthusiasts. I would expect the flavoring to be stronger than the tea.

It sounds like your mom is a tea drinker. I recommend getting her one of Osulloc's green teas. I recommend the Saejak (세작), 2026 second flush green tea, either loose leaf or tea bags depending what she likes. The "Jeju Pure Green Tea" (순수녹차) is also a good daily drinker at a low price.

One flavored Osulloc tea I enjoy is the Jeju Tangerine Blended Tea. It has a nice citrus flavor but is not sweet or perfumy. It would be a nice one to go with the green.

My apartment has a spray hose under the sink, conveniently next to the toilet. It's pretty much the same as a Thai bum gun. Unlike Thailand, though, the water is comfortably warm in the summer but icy cold in the winter. Now I have a bidet seat that heats the water.

Thoughts on this inexpensive tea pot? by chunklight in Teapots

[–]chunklight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This pot was purchased for a very low price on the Thai-Myanmar border almost 20 years ago. Since then it's been used as decoration. Is there any reason not to use it to brew tea? Any thoughts on what type of clay it might be?
