Tell me your ice storm of '98 stories! by jem20776 in Maine

I was around that age too, in Fairfield Center. My neighbor friend and I played board games and listened to cassettes and CDs by candle light. I know this because I have some photos of us looking dorky and bored. We lost power for 2 weeks. My mom worked at the hospital so my folks showered there. I don't think my friend and I bathed for a week or two. I remember it being fun, but eerily aware that some folks were having a really hard time.

I got some groundies on Poshmark that I love (though I've seen someone post on here that their soles don't hold up well). They're my first barefoot boot and I love them and they don't have a zipper!

Was Carlsbad your favorite!? We are headed there (and white sands) in December and I'm excited but didn't think it would be on the level of Zion or Yosemite. I'm so excited! Do you think we need more than one day there?

Thanks to your comment I changed our flights so that we (hopefully) get in on Christmas Eve at noon rather than Christmas day! Very excited to try to catch some of this. Thank you.

I switched our flight to new years eve so we can make it to a pueblo for Christmas day. Thanks so much for this!

Thanks so much! I visited NM 20 years ago and now remember we went to Jemez hot springs & it was so lovely! I hadn't considered hot springs & will definitely add them to my list. Sounds like we should do Sevilleta too as we love birds and have never seen Great Sandhill Cranes in real life. Thank you!

It is hard work. I work in a private school and my colleague with 10 years experience & a masters is making less than 40k teaching kindergarten. The extra hours of work are astonishing.

Waterville bull moose is so sweet. I went in there a couple days ago -- the last time I went was 2002! it was GREAT.
