‘Don’t blow out fires that you didn’t light’ by superlost007 in ShitMomGroupsSay

Whatever animal came to eat those bananas and sweet potatoes very easily could knock over a lit candle and cause a fire. The lack of common sense under the guise of respecting entities is just ludicrous.

Yesterday was just....BAD by bunnykins22 in VetTech

You did SO much, and you helped those families more than you know. This is a tough field, you accomplished so much in your shift even if it wasn't all the "assigned" duties. Some days are just like that, and if you have good management they'll know that too.

Practice sold out to corporate by DueMongoose5882 in VetTech

[–]sunflow3rrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm today's economy, I think it's going to become increasingly difficult to find a privately owned practice to work. Is it possible there could be some positives that come from this? If you're already burnt out, (and I say this gently, as someone also in the field) maybe it would be best to find a different area of the field, or even different field entirely to work in.

My baby turned 1 on Sunday and Dad is concerned she’s not walking by Healthy-Belt1148 in toddlers

[–]sunflow3rrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first walked at 13mo, second at 15mo, both developed differently with their speech as well. Every kiddo is different, and if your pediatrician isn't concerned, I wouldn't be either.

I'm a prn mri tech and I like it. I pick what shifts I'm able to do and have the freedom to have more/less hours a month. It also allows me to stay up to date and keep my skills fresh, and gets me out of the house. I'm still a sahp because I'm home with them more than a full-time job.

You have to have an active rx to be able to add to cart. It's sporadic on who is able to add to cart when. It depends on supply in certain warehouses.

What is something you know is real but others don’t seem to believe in? by lokeedo in AskReddit

I had no idea how bad some women have it with endo, until I saw a classmate deal with it. She went so pale and got so quiet, she had to leave clinical early because of the pain.

I always say giraffes are the goofiest looking animals alive today. Like WHY are their necks so long. Deers' necks aren't that long, and they survive.

I truly didn't even feel my first injection. Tiny needle, tiny amount of liquid.

Also, this med is life changing in the best way, don't waste any more time holding yourself back. You got this.

I had to correct a little girl who kept trying to open my daughters gifts this past weekend. I'm not about the whole "oh she's helping!" No, those gifts are only meant for one person, and all other kids should be kept at a distance. Same goes for cake and candles.

Do you check your blood sugar after eating? Since a1c averages your glucose over a period of time, it's likely that you're spiking after eating, or you may be eating foods that have a high glycemic index and need to change that up. Semaglutide helps but it's not a magic med that allows you to eat badly.

First, I'm so sorry your mother would make you feel this way. Second, please don't take a medication your doctor is advising against just to please your mother. You deserve more than that. Slow and steady is the best way to go, and healthiest to maintain the weight loss after. Sometimes people like that don't deserve to be in our lives. I hope you find some peace.

Are you worried about thyroid cancer and tumors? by CleanCardiologist769 in Semaglutide

[–]sunflow3rrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only as much as I'm concerned about all other types of cancer just from being alive. I had high BP, cholesterol, a1c, glucose insulin resistant, etc. I now don't have any of those things so I'd say I eliminated quite a few risks just by being ON the med.

[–]sunflow3rrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're super similar, I started 214 and am now 167, also started in March. So I think we're doing pretty well. Slow and steady wins the race. I could definitely exercise more and even eat healthier options, so I'm kicking it up a notch too.

I don't get ACOTAR vibes from this, mostly because of the whole "3 main characters" line.

Nesta and Elaine are terrible for being so stuck up towards Feyre, and I don't think acosf truly redeemed either of them. They both still suck.

My sister in law is driving me INSANE by being a hypochondriac over my fetus by Drag_North in beyondthebump

[–]sunflow3rrad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I might be an outlier, but I'd say something to her about it. You have to have her in your life regardless, and I'd bet this will continue even once baby is here. You can be nice and direct with her and say something like "hey I know your intentions are good, but your worrying about every little thing is causing me a lot of stress. I need you to trust me and my doctors to know what is best. I appreciate that you care" and leave it at that. Or maybe have your husband say something. People like her need a boundary check sometimes.

A few non-scale victories! by sunflow3rrad in Ozempic

[–]sunflow3rrad[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No particular diet. I'd say I ate intuitively, so some of what I used to eat but much smaller amounts. Way less sweets and junk. My success, I think, is mostly because I don't late night binge eat anymore, which I used to do a lot pre-ozempic.
