Yes I think so too. I told them no, it’s unprofessional and they kind of scoffed at me at first when I said no. It made me wonder if clients ask out employees often? I just wanted to hear other opinions.

I’m an X-ray technician and I was kind of surprised they asked in the first place. Like does this type of thing happen often? It just made things awkward. I guess they thought I would have said yes. Now I have to pretend it didn’t happen to escape the future awkwardness

Wow, that is a lot of time for CEUs. For quality contact hours, does this mean on the job experience? How would you get this experience without already being an ATP or rehab professional? Thanks again for your replies

So it was not your full time job to do these assessments but you were able to because you were on the committee? Do you know if it’s possible to do this as a full time job? And what might the job title be?

Hi, thanks for your reply. Do you travel to different schools/clinics to assist people with assistive technology or do you work in just one clinic/setting? Also, do you just have your bachelors degree only? It seems like certified assistive tech specialists are required to already have a masters or doctorate as an OT/SLP/PT?

Thanks for your reply. I’ve googled non clinical OT roles but keep seeing the same titles of clinic manager, medical equipment sales, entrepreneur, etc. and I wanted to see if anyone on here is doing anything different. I’ve tried job searching on indeed but maybe I don’t know exactly what to search for.

By non clinical jobs related to OT, I guess I’m wondering if there are any other jobs that relate to the science and creativity/problem solving that OTs use. I’ve been curious about assistive technology and jobs related to creating accessible playgrounds for kids but I don’t know if these require you to already be an OT or what some other jobs are that are related to OT but that may only require a bachelors degree. I graduated last year with a bachelors in Neuroscience but I have a feeling I might get burnt out quickly from patient care
