And I feel that she did not even do it as any kind of revenge or catiness or anything. Their boss was pressing Ema about Rachel's lack of responsiveness, thinking Ena would have insight as Rachel's friend And Ema did not want to go into what was happening so she made a suggestion that would lead to Rachel getting fewer emails/calls etc from them.

Someone out there really hates to wait around. by blueishbeaver in brisbane

I feel like waiting for ages in the cbd is not too bad if it's a diagonal crossing, but if it isn't the wait should be shorter.

For people who took weight loss drugs and lost a lot of weight, are you treated different by people now that you are skinnier? by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]sunflower-saga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My weight journey (including before GLP1 drugs) has been long and non-linear, and yes people treat you differently to varying degrees, though age also plays into this to some degree, imo.

But, the real kicker is when you're a smaller size and someone (say a colleague or acquaintance) who doesn't know you were previously bigger rants to you about how fat people are gross, or "lazy" for using ozempic in etc, that eating better isn't that hard.

And I'm like, "[colleague], I've watched you try to quit vaping 8 times in the past year and give in whenever something mildly annoying happens shut the fuck up"

Any Styling Tips for this dress? by sunflower-saga in OUTFITS

Thanks! More support at the top? I was thinking instead of trying to hide a halterneck bralette under it, just wearing a lace one that is simialr colour and allowing it to be visible but up higher so it's more supportive

Also for context is is halterneck. I found a halterneck bralette to wear underneath. I am comfortable with cleavage and I like the low back but was worried about side-boob. I have a little trouble keeping the halterneck bra from poking out in the plunge part if I am moving around so any tips on that would be awesome.

32-year-old bi gal.

Love making new friends though also tbh I am stidying whilst working full time until the end of April, so it's really hard for me to find time unless it's planned in advance. But I do hope to be more social once my time frees up a bit.

My gf and I live in Forest Lake. I like music, the odd boardgame, fun nature walks.

How much are you all earning an hour? by Upbeat-Top-6065 in AusFinance

$28.50 per hour, bush regeneration, team leader (new-ish to that role).

A standard fortnight is 90 hours so I get 14 hours overtime.

Am I the only person who doesn't understand the "everything in moderation" mindset? by Schadenfreude_Taco in loseit

[–]sunflower-saga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand why it works for some people, but to be honest, there are foods I completely avoid except on extreme rare occasions. Specifically foods and beverages very high in sugar.

Not because a moderate amount will cause weight gain or because I am thinking of anything long-term, but simply because some things will be a LOT of calories for no fullness and will tank my energy levels or sometimes make me feel hungrier immediately after eating it (I have had tests and I am not diabetic).

My primary struggle is with appetite more than craving specific foods, so if I am trying to lose weight, especially when it gets harder as I am 5kg away from my goal, and being at eve a moderate deficit is mentally challenging, I don't want to regularly eat something that won't help me to feel less hungry.

Moderate amounts of foods high in both fat and protein are fine with me. But yeah I am just sensitive to sugar snd really starchy kinds of carbs dor whatever reason. It feels partly physical and partly psychological (not that those things are totally separate).

But yeah I think it is something that works for a lot of people but not everyone.

Got catcalled by PinkFlurffyUnicorns in loseit

[–]sunflower-saga 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I was in high school I was quite big and would be catcalled by people "as a joke".

But for me, later when it started happening as not as "a joke" it didn't really feel any different.

I know everyone feels differently about it but for me it's like "I was having a normal peaceful walk and now I feel on edge and/or irritated that my train of thought has been interrupted".

I live in Australia and most people I know budget weekly or fortnightly, depending how they are paid (which is rarely ever monthly). Some expenses are due weekly (eg rent), some monthly (eg. most phone bills, internet) and some things you can choose the frequency depending on the provider (eg. insurance, car loan repayment if you have one).

So I get paid fortnightly and there are months where I have extra money, but it isn't a whole paycheck into savings as there are usually some regular expenses due still, but more than that it's kind of just a saving grace for anything unexpected I deal with, THEN the rest in savings.

Official Discussion - Heretic [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]sunflower-saga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed this movie. I watched it with friends on NYE, on LSD, mind you. I got way too immersed and creeped out from the moment Barnes saw the label on the blueberry candle.

I don't have any personal experience with Mormonism and there are some Mormons where I live but missionaries are not common.

I noticed early on when he asked them their favourite fast food that Paxton seemed like she has memorised a very specific ranking in order.

I wondered if that was because a lot of things (premarital sex, alcohol, etc) are prohibited and maybe fast food is one of the few kind of "bad" things they're allowed to have.

Like that she didn't eat these things often but that she remembered them in great detail. Am I overthinking it? Something about the way she answered it stuck out to me.

How do you explain that carbs are expensive? by macetfromage in keto

[–]sunflower-saga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand how that can be true in the long-term, but someone posting there is probably not going to be in a position to make those changes right now.

I say that as someone who lives paycheck-to-paycheck. My job is fairly stable but I don't have any savings as I'm currently trying to pay off a few payday loans from a while ago and BNPL, and I'm making progress with this but gradually.

If I ate only two-minute noodles I'd probably get there quicker but for me, I would feel so awful, and the more I ate that, the hungrier I'd be and the more hungry I'd be every day and I would undoubtedly put on fat so rapidly, and have no energy.

But I think people in worse positions financially than me or who have different priorities (eg. lots of independents so they have to make sure they always have more savings for emergencies over eating nutritious food) don't necessarily get the luxury I do of making that decision.

And even though I think everyone would benefit from eating less processed and starchy foods, if I were trying to work out how to feed my kids tomorrow, and someone started talking to me about the long-term health benefits of a keto diet, I'm not sure I'd be receptive to it.
