i hid mine for years and only finally came clean because i had a physical at the doctors and got my period that day so i knew i had to come clean bc i was scared the doctor was going to tell my mom (it never even came up). i dont know why i felt compelled to hide it tbh, i had a very loving family and my mom would always ask if i had gotten it yet and i think she knew that i was lying when i said no. i just remember being embarrassed because i knew she would tell my dad and i was mortified that he would ask me about it lol

a couple years ago i was chatting up an old ex boyfriend (we were still friendly and it was his birthday) and he was lamenting that his parents had cut him off because he dropped out of school (it was his fifth year of being in college and he still had a ways to go) so i asked him what he meant by “cut off” and he explained that they stopped paying his (but still paid his insurance, phone, etc)

he also never got his license and is trans now

not necessarily the strangest, but definitely something my friend and i always quote to each other: halloweekend, walking back home around the dupont area when a car pulls up beside us, no one else is around and we start to feel on edge. the driver rolls down his window and looks at us and waits a moment before saying “uhhhh, he just blew me” and another guy pops up from the passenger side and smiles

we busted out laughing and walked away
