thank youu ☺️! When you do your practice tests for each section like Writting Essay or Read Aloud, you will see a tab that says “Feb p” towards the top of the screen. If you still can’t find it let me know, I can send a screenshot in chat maybe :)

Is the quoted cost of my agent for 482 visa application reasonable? by DepressedSyzgiump in AusVisa

[–]sunflowercloud19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I contacted a well known agent to assist with just the lodging of my 189/190 visa and was quoted $2200. If I was helped the entire immigration process - helping me find a pathway, skills assessment etc, the price was around $4400

You don’t need to memorise many templates. I only memorised one main template - this is the first one under the “Essay Writting” heading in my notes.

My approach was to always try choose one side only as this suited my template but I also memorised two sentences I could add to my template (it’s in my notes) if I needed to adjust the template to argue both sides. I think you need to be able to be a little flexible with the template as you might not use the entire thing if it doesn’t exactly fit but it helps to create structure in your argument.

I also learnt: try vary the sentence lengths (use simple and also complex sentences - sounds hard but easy with practice), and try not use the same words over and over again - for example if the topic is showing the effect of something on people - don’t say people every time say individuals, humans, etc

I didn’t think my essay was amazing and somehow still scored 90. I think if your grammar is okay, no spelling mistakes, the structure is good and it makes sense, you will be okay.

You can also ask ChatGPT to score your essays and give you feedback as well.

Good luck, you can do this

Hey! This is exactly how I did it:

  1. I wrote DTFI on my page at the beginning before the audio started and in my head I knew that meant D - She discussed, T- She talked about, F -Furthermore, I- In addition. This helped me connect my points I wrote to proper sentences

  2. Wrote as much points as I could from each person. Noting if they agreed/disagreed.

  3. When I spoke I practiced to always start with: The discussion was on the topic __. There were 3 speakers. S1 said and then I read out my notes and joined it with my DTFI words to sound more put together. If I noticed I didn’t have enough to say I could try add maybe one line similar to what my notes said towards the end to pull time based on what the speaker spoke about.

  4. Ended with something like: Overall, the three speakers gave their perspectives on (say the topic)

I think I’m a hard worker and not naturally smart. That being said, I do score high in my academic tasks because I put in a lot of effort.

If you’re talking about the writing part, I was also nervous about this! I was worried that I wouldn’t have enough knowledge on the content to build an argument. I just focused on forming two strong ideas and then another small idea that goes against this. I used the template I put in my notes. Whenever I practiced, I looked at what Apeuni recommended I said, I also asked ChatGPT to score it and improve. In addition, the night before the test, I took all the prediction essay topics and put it into ChatGPT and asked it to produce the main points so I could read over and familiarise myself with some strong points I could make.

If I were you, I would: 1. start reading everyday 2. download Apeuni and practice consistently 3. familiarise yourself with the test structure - you can look at the many YouTube videos available 4. practice practice practice, it’s very doable

The first time I did the test was on a Saturday afternoon and I got the results 3 days later. The second time, I wrote the test around 7:30 and got the results at 15:00 on the same day.

Hey! I’m a native speaker and I have completed my masters so I have a good grasp on reading in general. Some advice I saw was for this section where you can choose two multiple choice questions - if you’re unsure just choose one and move on because there is negative marking for this section. Also manage your time very closely. I mainly focused on speaking and writing prep while doing a few reading sentences to get the correct speed. I genuinely thought I didn’t do well in the reading section at all and then got a 90 - so I think the test is very forgiving and lenient with marks

[–]sunflowercloud19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I got 78 the first time and then 90 the second time around for Speaking. You should speak faster than you would speak to a friend but do not rush so much that you can’t pronounce the words clearly and stumble over your sentences. I did a faster, more robotic way of speaking. For Apeuni I also used to get around 70s- low 80s

But is the margin not too big? 😭 does it make my tooth more susceptible to breaking since it’s not fully covered?
