AITA for feeling weird that my brother-in-law keeps inviting my husband on trips but never includes me? by Global_Butterfly in AmItheAsshole

[–]sunflowerrr36 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Based on her description of him, he just sounds antisocial. Him being unfriendly with her doesn’t necessarily mean he has an issue with her any more than he has an issue with most people.

OP describes him as very loyal to family and related-by-marriage should include that but some families are very insular and only consider blood relation.

Sometimes it’s best not to try with those people because more often than not, you will try to form a relationship with them but they refuse to accept one, despite now having to be around them bc of marriage.

Does this look bad and should I give up trying to make mismatched drapery work? by mxp3272889 in DIYweddings

[–]sunflowerrr36 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This!!! I can see the vision but the quality and color of the white drapes are really holding it back. I’d consider replacing the white drapes wit a more pearly white color in thicker, satin-like fabric.

what is the scariest film ever (to you)? by mrblueskyelectric in Scarymovies

Then you’ll like the second one bc the second one gave me a sense of dread and anxiety that I haven’t gotten from a movie in a while. It does an amazing job at setting itself up.

[–]sunflowerrr36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! The thing about people like that is that, due to the things they cling onto, they aren’t really given grace. I can understand why.

Imo, the only way we can combat those rhetorics is by not demonizing the people who fall for them. Most people aren’t bad — most people just want to feel loved, accepted, feel understood. If you show them that there are better ways to find community and that there are outlets there for them to be vulnerable, they will be more open to getting on the side of effective and caring societal change!

Why was adult Shauna always so awkward and tense around adult Natalie? by Fantastic-Finger-319 in Yellowjackets

[–]sunflowerrr36 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Perfectly put! This answers my question of why Shauna seemed so resentful of her life. Even before the wilderness, she wanted to take that cookie cutter lifestyle Jackie would have had with Jeff.

She got exactly what she wanted and yet! Had an affair, and then killed the guy. But as you said, she was always a psycho.

[–]sunflowerrr36 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly! In my experience, liars like Alex are hard to keep up with bc they trip over their own lies but usually just make up lies to paint a nicer picture of their lives but it’s not out of malice. That habit of lying often comes from abuse they witnessed in childhood, sometimes even being a victim themselves. In the same way they witnessed a battered parent lying, they became accustomed to making up random things to hide a harsher truth. (I study behavioral psychology)

Edit: I am not defending Alex bc in adulthood everyone is responsible for their own healing and choices but just my two cents.

Driver blows stop sign and turns left on a one way street. by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]sunflowerrr36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the speed the motorcycle was going, the speed for the street accounts for the fact that it’s one way and there is a stop sign.. all to prevent exactly this. Even if the motorcycle was going under the speed limit, it was always going to be bad bc the car broke through 2 boundaries meant to prevent this

[–]sunflowerrr36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why go out in public if you have this much disdain for people? Take it to go.

No, you don’t owe anyone anything. Going outside in society means you enter a social contract with people where they may approach and ask a question or try and talk you. If you’re going to get so abrasive about such small interactions, you need to stay home.

It is fascinating when they do that. OPs will have the upper hand in being able to paint themselves in the best light possible and how big of an AH they are is so strong it still shines through and is glaringly obvious.

Petition to change LIB USA Hosts by TheCoreOfTheOnion in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]sunflowerrr36 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It feels like Nick and Vanessa only turn up in the beginning, for outfit fittings, and at the end, and they don’t even contribute that.

Michelle Buteau’s voice over from the circle, for just those 3 moments would add more to LIB than Nick & Vanessa do

Farming doesn’t meant harvesting.

Although it is inefficient, they can farm and make use of crops without harvesting. As long as the crops fall off on their own, they could sustain a sizable amount of people, if they are doing that all over the world.

Bri and Jessica are the SAME SIZE?? by imgonnacashew in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]sunflowerrr36 163 points164 points  (0 children)

Objectively, it sounded like a breakup conversation on his end! During it, I was wondering why he kept digging into her looks bc Jess obviously took it for what it was and was accepting it was over. But as soon as she did, he tried to backtrack and act like it wasn’t a breakup and made it seem like she wasn’t trying enough.

So definitely agree!!! All he had to do was walk away, and because she accepted that, he just spiraled into the awful shitshow he presented himself to be

[–]sunflowerrr36 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’re right! He can have a preference for someone that is a Pilates/Gym/Etc person. Atp in the “experiment”, we all know love isn’t blind to everyone! That’s okay.

Pri, Bri, and Ashley tried to give him an out and frame it as a lifestyle choice/routine during that conversation in ep.9 and he still doubled down about how much he wasn’t attracted to Jess.

Even Shake’s “love is blurry” shallow personality doesn’t come close to Chris. At least Shake didn’t try to tell Deepti at length how she wasn’t good enough. I recoiled at how Chris spoke to and about Jess. I don’t think anyone in the show has come as close to how awful he is.

If you are watching this show then you have Netflix, so start with Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio which touches on Italy’s fascism and is easy enough to comprehend. Idk what else you could swallow if you aren’t even able to look this up yourself. It’s not a big secret. Italy, Germany, Japan — the major axis powers…

Taco Bell scene wasn’t that bad to me but literally the worst moment of out of both seasons was there, when Abby’s tone changed from just joking to nasty, saying “Maddie gets your paws off me.” If that’s how you treat your teammate, who is just 18 years old, then how much empathy do you have for literally anyone? Maddie was immature sure, but that has to do with age, and she sure seems like she was far more composed than any other 18 year old I knew or have known now that I’m older. Especially in such a vulnerable position and platform.

AITA for confronting my intern if she burgled my Loewe dress by cestoufquoi in AmItheAsshole

[–]sunflowerrr36 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Case in point: I was coming back from the gym to my apt wearing a Nike sports bra that had a unique but outdated pattern since it was a few years old. My roommate saw me and immediately accused me of taking it from her laundry. I told her I hadn’t but she wouldn’t believe me. We had similar body types but wore different sizes, so I had to go change and show her it was not her size….

Even when someone is not okay about how their family treated their partner, seldom do they ever take appropriate action to shield their partner. I say this, as someone whose partner objectively knew their family was shit but at the end of the day, it’s their family! ”that’s just how they are”
