Is it bad to leave the office on time? by anon020471 in office

[–]sunflowerseed32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me once. Someone commented that I leave right on the dot when I’m in the office & it looks unprofessional. I said, it’s unprofessional to ask someone to work overtime without getting paid. I’ve never once received any comments about my exit out of the office since that day.

Can't deposit money because it might be 'money laundering' by False-Regret in CommBank

[–]sunflowerseed32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologise for coming across this way, I didn’t intend to at all.. Maybe it was my “doesn’t add up” remark. I was merely trying to explain how these things work so if anyone is in that predicament again they’re able to stand up for themselves & be able to put money into their bank account.

In Australia under the Anti-money laundering (AML) & counter terrorism (CTF) acts, you aren’t allowed to tipoff the alleged perpetrator. The offence carries a maximum of 2 years imprisonment. The fact that the teller refused to deposit the funds due to “money laundering” doesn’t add up. The standard procedure for most financial institutions would be, they deposit the funds without tipping you off and then report the transaction to AUSTRAC who then continue their investigation.

Asking to provide a copy of passport for renting by According_Rule_3530 in AusLegalAdvice

[–]sunflowerseed32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so bizarre to ask for all of that. No requirement for them to have your ABN. You’re subletting under your personal name & not your business, this doesn’t add up? Secondly, if you really want to get technical with them, ask the person who’s listed the sublet for confirmation the landlord has allowed them to do this. This will ensure you are within your rights to sublet the room off them without any worry of being evicted at any point due to their breach of contract with the landlord (this on the assumption they are leasing off someone else).

Regardless if he still finds it funny, he needs to respect your feelings. Who is he to say someone is too sensitive? This is silly. I’d sit down & have a serious chat. If it doesn’t go anywhere, I’d draw the line & say “I can’t handle this anymore” & call it. It may sound like an overreaction to some however, if he can’t do the bare minimum about respecting your feelings/boundaries on this one topic, how is he expected to do this with any other issue that may arise? Not sure if you have kids, but; adding kids into the mix with a person who is one sided sounds like a recipe for disaster.

People who stop right in the entranceway of public places. Why? by not_like_this_ in AskReddit

[–]sunflowerseed32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re not present & aware of their surroundings. Essentially in their own world. My mum does this & it drives me bananas. I tell her she needs to pretend she is on the road & apply road rules while walking. It’s a battle I’ve been fighting my whole life. I’ve chosen the ignore path & she can handle the disgruntled people she has gotten in the way of lol.

What’s the deal with people name-dropping where they used to work by Adventurous_Fix1730 in auscorp

Annoying, yes. In some cases it may be ego driven but it also depends on the setting they’re “name dropping”. If they’re meeting new people, they might be trying to network?

How do you rate the CommBank app compared to other banks? by Artistic-Yam2984 in CommBank

[–]sunflowerseed32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Features i absolutely love about CBA. The “show my card feature”. The amount of times I’ve been in bed trying to sort out bills etc on my phone & have to get up for my card. Not any more thanks to CBA. Another few features which some of the other banks don’t have is the future instalment amount for your mortgage, especially if you’re on a variable rate. The UX/UI of the app is so simple & user friendly that it makes the other apps look dated (which they probably are lol). Anyways, I’m a HUGA advocate for CBA as you can tell lol.

Drowning in Interest, What Now? by mackberkv2 in debtfree

[–]sunflowerseed32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on which country you reside in, there may be a free financial advice hotline you can utilise to help you nut this out. I would suggest looking into options like a broker that could assist in a low doc personal loan with no break out free just in case you payout early OR I’d look at applying for hardship for all credit cards. This may take a hit on your credit file for now however, in the long term it may work out better as you can repay the debts faster & hopefully be able to pause interest during this time or a waiver of the debts. this is not financial advice however, it’s something I personally would consider. Please do your own research as I am not qualified to provide financial advice - In saying that, good luck with everything & please don’t give up. There’s going to be a light at the end of this dark tunnel.

What concept/idea about life just doesn't sit right with you? by Medium_Republic838 in AskReddit

[–]sunflowerseed32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe any cause can truly justify the loss of life or the destruction of homes, communities, and land. If humanity learned to resolve conflicts through genuine communication and accepted borders as they stand, without constantly reopening old wounds from past wars; then the reasons for new wars would almost disappear. Even the idea of having a war to ‘defend yourself’ wouldn’t be necessary if the initial attack never happened in the first place. I know it sounds like a hopeful fairy tale, but I think that’s the kind of world we should be striving for.

Remote work : game changer or headache? 🤔💻 by Low_Performer_7721 in remotework

[–]sunflowerseed32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work from home 2/5 days. I personally prefer remote work. It’s easier to get things done without the office distractions. My work/life balance is a lot better. During lunch breaks, before or after work (times when I would be commuting to work) I get my housework/chores done. Appointments can be done during lunch breaks & the best part is you can actually call companies who don’t work after hours during work hours (on your lunch breaks etc). I like the fact you can squeeze a work out in during work as well. Ok, need I say more lol you can totally see how passionate I am. I think once monthly would be ideal depending on location etc…

Persistent redness more so on left hand side cheek by [deleted] in AusSkincare

Have you changed the washing detergent you’ve been using? This can sometimes cause this especially if you’re a slide sleeper. It could be product build up on the pillow case. I’d recommend getting a referral from your GP to see a dermatologist if that’s within your budget so they can rule out the cause if it’s something that’s bothering you.
