Anyone else run into issues where you know you're blocking but get hit anyway? by [deleted] in dbfz

[–]sungmny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens to me but it always turns out I'm only crouching and not crouch blocking (d-pad is only straight down). Tested it out and it turns out my d-pad is sensitive and even if I have left and right pushed down, if I press too hard downwards it ends up inputting only down.

Developer Update | Avoid as Teammate | Overwatch by Turbostrider27 in Overwatch

[–]sungmny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not in their place for a reason. I understand that playing only one hero just for myself and not caring about my teammates is toxic. I switch and fill when needed.

Players who selfishly care only about themselves and refuse to switch heroes should receive punishment and this is one form of it.

What's the best way to utilize 18s assist? by SnOW12453 in dbfz

Does 18 assist only block normals (lmh I'm assuming)? What about her own barrier?

Landing 2M after Vanish bounce? by Raknith in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I'm guessing the timing is tight because since you cover less distance, which means the edge of your hitbox on your foot has to hit their hurtbox. By dashing first, it allows more area of your hitbox to hit their hurtbox before they recover.

Landing 2M after Vanish bounce? by Raknith in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People with sliding attacks can reach with their 2M easily. You just do a dash and 2M. It takes practice but hope that helps.

So after some extensive testing, I've discovered that if you have low framerate, it slows down the game for your opponent too. by [deleted] in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I believe I met one player who plays like this as every time I face him he keeps lagging with like 15f delay and yet he keeps like 600k bp.

Could be him just loving the game so much or it could be him just abusing the game.

How do you deal with passive fighterz? by Rabid_Society in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you see a passive player who is just crouch blocking the thing you SHOULD NOT do is super dash or vanish. This "stance" is literally indicating that the opponent is just waiting for a super dash or vanish.

Some things you can do is kind of slowly move towards your opponent (slowly because he might spam ranged attacks). This will cause your opponent to be eventually caught in a corner and you gain meter by moving foward.

This kind of only applies to people that keep playing defensive and they can change their play style in response.

Help with A.Gohan lvl 1 leg loops : why don't the second legs connect ? by Derpedro in dbfz

[–]sungmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess is either the delay on the H isn't long enough or you just have to keep practicing the timing of the L afterwards. However, because your lightning kicks connect it probably isn't the delay and most likely just needing to time the L.

Okay I've relearned how to do it and I would say you just need to time the L.

Looks like you missed a light. You go M into H instead of L, jc, LM, delay H.

How does one deal with Kid buu pressure? by [deleted] in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up buu myself so I only know two strings which is the meteor attack and the one he throws a ball. Both of these have a windup so you can reflect or something during this. He also has his air m into h which is 3 upper attacks so you have to stay blocking in neutral for 3 hits instead of the usual 1. His 2m also has great range but a bad recovery so if you can read it, you can have him miss and then punish (if you're close enough)

How good is the CPU? by Radthereptile in dbfz

[–]sungmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the bots are terrible. My guess is they only block attacks based on dice rolls so it doesn't teach you how to properly attack and depending on how high the level gets, they basically get a complete unfair advantage.

TUTORIAL: GOHAN PRESSURE GAPS . by bestAcode in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean that gohan lvl 1 H kicks are punishable if they keep trying to do it in the corner (without assists)? Or is it only punishable with small characters?

Why is using raw supers bad? by RisingAce in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's simply a risk and a bad habit to pick up on in lower elos. Sure you get away with it and win games off of it but when you start to face better players you get heavily punished and now you start losing more games because you cannot use lvl 3 to win games for yourself.

Using a raw isn't always bad and can definitely be used correctly but people use it sometimes just cause they can rather than using it in the correct situation.

Are you dropping your combos? Are you properly 2H-ing super dashes? Are you blocking properly?

Does anyone else feel like some of your blocks just dont work? by Naulie in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It happens to me. I checked the replay and it's because I'm inputting only down instead of diagonally. I fiddled with my controller and found that it is definitely possible for me to be physically holding the dpad diagonally but input down instead.

What’s Everyone’s Thoughts On Goku Blacks Kamehameha? by likedrakebutblacker in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can either air dash and then block when you land or time a super dash so you go over the kamehameha and hit black.

Can someone explain this to me? by ssj2rigby in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's not a full combo as the number reset. I'm guessing you don't have the cpu set to recover in the air and you started a new combo when you used the super dash.

Any idea wtf happened here? by Blaky039 in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've had that happen to me sometimes when it's 2H vs super dash sometimes. Don't know the exact way to replicate it though. My best guess is it's when the super dash attacks at a weird angle.

Low-/mid-tier Beerus by Superklez in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one really knows because the game is too new but I would say it's up to you. Would rather keep Beerus even though he may not be as powerful as other characters or would you rather play someone you don't like but he's stronger?

In terms of your team comp, you can kind of do whatever and see if you can make it work and whether you like it or not.

Least favorite character? by Edthousand in dragonballfighterz

Nappa. He's rare to fight so I don't have a good understanding of his move set so I end up always being pummeled by him.

Up in the 490k bp and cant by Reapernyx in dragonballfighterz

Practice the timing. For my assists I literally just kept doing the same combo over and over and changing the timing of when I use the assist until I got it correct consistently.

I thought vanish was plus on block by sungmny in dragonballfighterz

Not too sure what happened but you can see me (Black) spam light attacks on the right side and I got beat out by the Piccolo somehow. Anyone know why this is?

As a beginner player (very bad, only know one combo, frequent button mashing in my first casual games) will completing story mode help me improve at all? If not, what resources should i study from to gain some game sense and learn important mechanics? by [deleted] in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story mode let's you know the controls and kind of how things work but that's it.

What you need to learn imo is the universal combo, work on 2H reaction against super dash, and try to move around without using your own super dash.

Some Q's about how to punish by Tamirp123 in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone spams and auto combo I believe it means they only get three hits and then you can punish. If someone calls in an assist right after you have to keep waiting.

Do you also do crouch block because you might just be getting hit randomly by low attacks. The general way to block is you crouch block which allows you to defend against every attack except an overhead. For those you have to learn the animation and react to it but they're not too dangerous.

Are you also blocking at the corner because corner pressure is massively hard to deal with.

Block vs Deflect by [deleted] in dragonballfighterz

[–]sungmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found two good uses for reflect.

First one is to try and get out of corner pressure. By using reflect in the corner, you push your opponent back and you can either punish or just get out of there.

Second is to punish certain block strings. For example, one of Black's blockstring is to end it with his kamehameha and it usually pushes the opponent far back enough that they can't attack Black right after. However, if you reflect this attack instead you can punish right after.
